MME & Tombow - {Blog Hop}

March 30, 2014

Happy Sunday, blog friends!!  Today is the third day of our My Mind's Eye & Tombow blog hop!  There have been two other days of amazing projects & chances to win a prize...so be sure to get all the details on the MME blog!

Because my latest MME blog post was just a couple days ago on the MME blog, I whipped up another card to match what I made for it & am sharing them all today on my blog!! For today's projects I've used the new Chalk Studio II collection & the Tombow Xtreme adhesive, which I just LOVE.  I have a deep love for the chalkboard trend, and I love how this collection pairs it with pink, aqua & yellow.  Those three colors really give the chalkboard elements a much softer feel!

Supply List:
Chalk Studio II: 6x6 designer paper pad, chipboard, enamel dots, decorative brads,  Now and Then "Izzy" alpha/word stickers

There are lots of amazing items in the Chalk Studio II collection that make amazing cards, and lots of fun gift ideas!  Your scrapbooking product is a great place to start whenever creating a homemade gift...and this collection is a perfect pick!

Here is the blog hop list, so you no where you need to go next!

Glitz Design - {gold ombre}

March 25, 2014

Hey there, blog friends!!  How are you doing today?  I am in Montana right now, just enjoying being around my family.  My grandpa's 90th birthday party was a huge success....lots of friends came to celebrate him, and almost our entire family was able to attend.  I consider myself so blessed to be 34 years old with grandparents who have been able to be an active part of my entire life.  They are both still sharp as a tack, and completely mobile.  I pray that I got those same genes!!!! :)   I watched them play cribbage against each other last night, and then I played a competitive hand of gin rummy against my grandma and barely squeaked out a win.  Lol- she will probably beat me royally in our next hand.

I wanted to share a card that I made for the Glitz blog last week...I'm just now getting the chance to get it posted to my blog!  It might be one of my latest fave cards....the ombre gold background just makes me smile a little bit!! Check it out:

2. Cut three strips of gold glitter paper, and adhere to the front.
3. Layer a doily to the middle of the card.
4. Diecut the hello circle from a 3x4 card, then adhere to the front with foam adhesive.
5. Diecut the wreath from gold glitter paper, then adhere around the hello circle.
6. Cut a banner edge to a vellum strip, add the gold stickers to it & adhere to the bottom of the circle.
7. Cluster the flowers & giant rhinestone to the left of the vellum banner.

4. Cut a strip of steel grey cardstock, and adhere to the bottom.

Glitz Design - {rainbow + gold stars}

March 12, 2014

Happy Tuesday, blog friends!!  How are you doing on this fine Wednesday?  My day has been good....pretty quiet.  My hubby got home yesterday from a quick business trip over to Rapid City, and today he is working on his home brew stuff...so I am just doing my own thing!  A little bit of work on the computer, watched a couple of DVR'd shows & I am going to get some crafting done here in a bit!

So, I went all clean & simple recently, and I have a card to share with you today that came from it!!  Lol!  It uses my fave sheet of paper from the  Glitz Design "Wild & Free" collection, and some stamps from Lawn Fawn and Winnie & Walter!!  Check it out!
Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from white cardstock.
2. Cut rainbow paper slightly smaller, then adhere.
3. Cut white cardstock block slightly smaller, then stamp the stars & spray with gold mist.
4. Diecut the circle from the middle of the stamped block.
5. Cut a strip of vellum, then stamp the sentiment to the middle.
6. Once dry, adhere the vellum strip across the middle of the cardstock block.
7. Adhere the white cardstock block to the front of the card base with foam adhesive.
8. Accent the top & bottom of the diecut circle with matching jewels to finish.

Card Challenges:
-Mojo Monday #336
-Lawnscapings #77 - bling
-Studio Calico Weekly challenge - negative space

I actually really love this card...it ended up coming together.  I wasn't loving it at first...for awhile I thought it was going to be a lost cause & tossed right into the recycling bin.  I'm glad I kept working with it, changing the things that weren't working for me...& turned it into this CAS little number! ;)  I hope you like it too!

Well, that is all I have for you today!!  I hope you have a great rest of your day!

Until later,
~L.

Supplies:
**The vellum can be purchased from most craft stores.  I've had the Doodlebug jewels in my stash for quite a few years, and could not find the pink ones for linking purposes.**
