Alexandra Renke - Simple Baby Card Set

March 10, 2019

Happy Sunday! Just popping in today to share a simple card set that I made over the weekend. If you hadn't heard yet, Josh and I became licensed foster parents last November and on February 15th, we got our first placement. Two girls - a 13 month old, and her 6 week old preemie sister that was discharged from the NICU to us. Needless to say...life around here has been chaotic, and super busy. So, I don't have a lot of extra crafty time right now. And that is where these gorgeous papers & dies from Alexandra Renke come into play!

These cards took me less then an hour to put together, and now I have two gorgeous baby cards ready for the next time I need one. The cutie angel dies were actually from Alexandra's Christmas release, but I thought they would be perfect for baby cards!

To start I did all the diecutting. I diecut the angels three times: one from gold glitter paper and twice from white cardstock. Then I diecut the sentiments from white cardstock three times. I stacked and adhered them together with a Zig 2-way glue pen.

Then I cut the backgrounds from two sheets of gorgeous Alexandra Renke patterned paper, aptly named "Baby's Breath" and "Baby's Breath Rose". I adhered them to the front of A2 white card bases with full sheets of foam adhesive to give the card some dimension.

Finally I adhered the diecut angels & sentiments to each card front, then accented with matching pearls & small jewels. Super easy, and super pretty.

That is all I have for you today! Before I close, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I would love to be crafty friends!

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Simon Says Stamp Fresh Bloom Blog Hop - Day 1

Happy Friday, crafty friends! It's always a happy day when we are celebrating a brand new release from Simon Says stamp, right?! This is day 1 of the Fresh Bloom Blog Hop, and we've got quite the lineup for you! I will put all of the blog hop details at the end of my post, but how about we get to my cards first? I've focused on the adorable Bunny Wishes stamp set, which is 6x8 in size and SO cute! Check it out!

The first thing I did was blend the clouds using oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass and Broken China.

Then I stamped the bunny & balloons to white cardstock in onyx black Versafine. Next I colored in the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, then fussy cut it. This stamp set has coordinating dies, but I did not receive them. Seriously - just get the dies. Lol! I'm so not good at fussy cutting, but it had to be done!

Next I stamped & heat embossed parts of the sentiment directly to the ink blended background, then adhered it to an A2 white cardbase with foam adhesive. Then I adhered the bunny image to the front with foam dots. I stamped the final part of the sentiment to white cardstock and trimmed into a thin strip. I adhered it directly below the word happy, and then to finish I accented with jewels and added shimmer to the balloons.
That is what I have for you today! How about we get to all the fun blog hop info now?!

SugarPea Designs Sweet 2 Repeat Blog Hop

Happy Friday! Today is the Sweet 2 Repeat blog hop with SugarPea Designs and we are creating again with the most recent Spring release.

I will give you all the blog hop info at the bottom, but how about we get to my card first? It's that time of year, and I've created another Easter card. I just love the Easter items that were included in the most recent release, but especially the scripted word die!

To start this card I diecut the scalloped rectangle two times from white cardstock. I thought that the Concentric Circles stencil looked a little like sunrays if I didn't ink up all of it, and it was perfect for the Easter theme of the card. I lightly inked the rays in Scattered Straw oxide ink. I diecut the hill from the second scalloped rectangle, then lightly inked it up with oxide ink in Shabby Shutters.

Then I diecut the word Easter three times - once from gold glitter paper and twice from white cardstock, then stacked them together. I stamped the rest of the sentiment underneath where the scripted word would be placed. With all the diecutting done, I put the card together in layers and finished by accenting here & there with my signature jewels.
