Happy Thursday, everyone!!  Welcome to this month's Glitz Design blog hop!  We are featuring the new Wild & Free collection this time around, and I have two cards to share with you!

I adore how whimsical & free spirited this collection is....it makes creating cards very easy!  I love the soft colors paired with black, and the ombre shading used throughout.  It just makes me swoon a little!

Here is the link list for the blog hop!  We will be giving away a Wild & Free collection pack, so it is well worth going to each blog & leaving a comment!  Not only will you finish the blog hop full of inspiration, but multiply your chances of winning the Wild & Free prize!

Banner Notes

September 13, 2013

Happy Friday, friends!  So- I didn't post yesterday....in case you didn't notice.  Lol.  We hauled & laid over 500 bricks in our backyard, but not before it was raked, poured leveling sand & prepped it for the bricks.  It was a LONG day.  Then we had to make a run to Costco...where we proceeded to eat humongous pieces of pizza for dinner because neither of us could fathom doing anything else.  When we got home I took the longest shower of my life.  When I got downstairs to watch football with Josh...I pretty much just passed out immediately.  Folks- it was 9pm.  Ha!

So, yesterday's post had to be pushed to today!  I have two cards to share with you today that could go together in a set.  I used the colors (brown, aqua, yellow) from the current 10 Minute Craft Dash #25.

The first card is this sweet little thank you card that I finished in 9 minutes, 32 seconds.  Background stamping makes me SO nervous, or I might have gotten it finished sooner than that.  Ha!!  For this card I used WPlus9's Borders and Backgrounds 2, Basic Banners & the Basic Banners die.  This is what came of it!
Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from white cardstock, then round the lower right corner.
2. Stamp the stripes & circles directly to the background.
3. Diecut the banner from white cardstock, then stamp the banner & sentiment.
4. Adhere the banner to the front with a bit of doily.
5. Accent three of the circles with jewels.
6. Add a scatter of sequins to finish the card.

Up next is this sweet little birthday card that I finished in 8 minutes, 51 seconds.  I used WPlus9's Monogrammed, Basic Banners & the Basic Banners die for this one.
 Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from white cardstock, then round the bottom corners.
2. Cut a strip of doily, & adhere to the middle.
3. Diecut the banner from white cardstock, then stamp the banner & sentiment to it.
4. Adhere the banner to the top of the doily, then accent with yellow sequins.
5. Stamp the rest of the sentiment above the banner.
6. Accent each end of the lettering with jewels to finish.

Well, this will most likely be my last post for a couple of weeks.  I leave for Montana again on Monday, and I'm not bringing any crafting items with me because I have some stuff that I have to bring back from Missoula that we weren't able to fit on the first trip.  So, it is doubtful that I will get anything done before then!

I hope that you all have enjoyed my last couple of posts, and I promise that once I am in Fargo for good in October that I will begin posting more regularly again!

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!!

Until later,
~L.

You are my True North

September 11, 2013

Happy Wednesday, blog friends!!  How was your day yesterday?  We went and had burgers, fries & beers {well, I had hand crafted rootbeer because I don't like beer} at JL Beers, then caught up on Master Chef on Hulu.  We have been trying to spend time together as much as possible, because I go back to Montana on Monday for two weeks.

I have another card to share with you today using some new WPlus9 product from the August/September release!  Today I am using Dockside, Dockside Backgrounds, & Clear Cut Stackers: Circles.  I've combined them with the Uncharted Waters collection from Glitz Design, and it was a perfect match!  Here is the card I created!

Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from kraft cardstock.
2. Cut blue paper slightly smaller, stamp the X border to the left side, then adhere.
3. Stamp the sentiment to a tan ombre paper strip, then cut a banner edge to it.
4. Adhere with three other banners to the front.
5. Diecut two circles, & stamp the compass to the smaller one.
6. Adhere the circles to the front, popping the stamped one with foam adhesive.
7. Accent with the white flair, glittered stars & enamel dots.
8. Add the "remember this" paper strip with a paper clip to the upper right corner to finish.

Nautical themed items are such a big trend right now, and this stamp set goes perfectly with all the paper & embellishments out there right now!  Love it!

I looked around on some of my favorite challenge blogs looking for some inspiration...and I found it in the form of the Sweet Sunday Sketch #191 this time around!  I added some things here & there, but the sketch was a great jumping off point!  I was also inspired by the Fusion #17 challenge, Moxie Fab "All That Glitters is Gold" challenge, & The Pink Elephant #216 "Nautical" challenge as well!

I will be back tomorrow for my last day of WPlus9 inspiration for you!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Until later,
~L.

Feather Thank You

September 10, 2013

Hi there, blog friends!  So, I am pretty sure that as of late....I always start my blog posts out with an apology.  I'm not going to do it this time....you all know that I am in the middle of a move to Fargo, ND.  You all know that I still am trekking back & forth from ND to MT to finish out my wedding season.  And if you didn't know that before, now you do.  Lol!  It's life, and we all have seasons where our hobby {no matter how much we love it, live it, breath it} takes a back seat.  This is one of my season's.

With that being said...it doesn't mean I don't have anything to share!  :)  I've got a few days of WPlus9 inspiration for you, using our August/September release products.  Today I have a little Thank You gift set using the "Fanciful Feathers" stamp set & coordinating dies.  Check it out!
Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from oatmeal cardstock.
2. Trim tissue paper slightly smaller, then adhere to the front.
3. Stamp the sentiment to a journal card, then adhere to the front using foam adhesive.
4. Layer stickers, border trims & a ticket under the left side of the card.
5. Diecut two feathers from oatmeal cardstock, then stamp the feather images to them.
6. Adhere the feathers to the middle of the journal card.
7. Wrap twine around the bottom, tie a double bow & top with a pearl brad.
8. Layer a tag underneath the right side of the card, above the twine.
9. Adhere a glittered arrow to the bottom of the card.
10. Accent with wood veneer stars & jewels to finish.

To create the gift box, just wrap with matching tissue paper, stamp & embellish as shown.  This is a super easy & beautiful way to give a thank you gift!

This stamp & die set is one of my very favorite latest from WPlus9!  It is just so elegant & beautiful, and can add a trendiness to some past sentiments & sets.  I will definitely be using this stamp set a lot more in the future!

I've created this for a couple of challenges that are going on out in the crafty world this week.  I created it for the Moxie Fab "All that Glitters is Gold" challenge, Flourishes "Get In Shape" challenge, Runway Inspired #43 Ric {I chose to use gold in place of the goldenrod yellow} & Paper Issues "Put Some Twine On It" challenge

Well, that is all I have for you today!  I hope you enjoyed my post today, and I will be back with more tomorrow.  Have a great Tuesday!

Until later,
~L.
