Winnie & Walter August Release Tour of Stars

August 29, 2014

Hey there, blog friends!  I am super excited about tonight, because this is my first time officially participating in a Winnie & Walter release as part of The Talent!  I've been on the team for a little while now, but was unable to be part of the last release due to my schedule in July.  I am super excited to be playing along!!

This month we are having one big blog hop to showcase all the new product.  We are releasing three new stamp sets this month, in a new LARGE size!!  These stamp sets are 6x8, and chalk FULL of images.  I think you are going to love them so much!

For my first card, I used the new Halloween set called "Moonlight".  I kept it nice & simple, but added a little bit of artsy to it by watercoloring the background in orange & yellow and flinging some black droplets on it (which also flung all over my face, & I totally giggled when I looked at myself in the mirror).

Keeping with the season, I created a more fall themed card using the new stamp set called "A Tree for All Seasons".  I kept a neutral color palette for the most part, other than the sweet little red bird.  I thought it was a nice small pop of color to a card that was mostly brown.

Considering this is a blog hop, you should have arrived here from Laura's blog, and your next stop is Mayuri's blog.  If you've happened upon this post, and want to participate in the entire blog hop...check out the Winnie & Walter blog for a full list & starting point!

These stamps are all available for purchase right now, so head on over to the Winnie & Walter store to pick up your must haves!!  I am also giving away a stamp set of the winner's choice from the August release!!  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by August 31st at 11:59 pm CST, and I will pick a winner from all of the comments!!

I hope that you've enjoyed my cards tonight....have an awesome start to your weekend!

Until later,
~L.

Lil Inker August Release Day 3

August 28, 2014

Hey there, blog friends!  Welcome to day 3 of the Lil' Inker Designs August release!  This month's release is SUPER fun, and today I am focusing on all the awesome Halloween goodies that are included in it!   I've combined my new Lil' Inker Designs product with the new My Mind's Eye Halloween collection, "Frightful", and they were a perfect match!!

For this card I combined the Classic Halloween stamp set with the Stitched Ghosts die set, and came up with this whimsical & fun design!  I've added multiple layers, including textures like tulle & trim, and utilized vellum to add the sentiment over top of the diecut ghosts.  This way they still peek through!!

For this card I cut the Ghost Border die from cream colored felt cut to fit the width of an A2 card, then also used the Spooky Word die at the bottom of the felt piece. I layered it all together to the card front, then finished the sentiment using the Boo & Faces stamp set.  How adorable is that ghost border?!!  I am in love with it!!

Here is a look at everything I used today!

Before I let you go here is a list of everyone participating in our hop today:

Lil Inkers August Release Day 2

August 27, 2014

Hey there, blog friends!  First off...let me apologize for not posting on day 1 of the release.  Some things came up, and I just wasn't able to get it done.  So sorry for that!

So, how about we get on with Lil Inkers August release day two!! Tonight I have a card with matching envelope to share with you!!  I've combined two of the new Lil Inker stamp sets, and two of the new dies to create it.  Check it out!
I went with a classic color combo of white, kraft & red to create this easy but fun card & envelope set!!  These dies & stamp sets went together perfectly...and I love how this turned out.  (The stamped line that the envelopes are hanging from are an old stamp set from another company...I will not give the details of the stamp set in this post because it isn't necessary.  You can easily create these lines with a curved item & a black pen.)

Here are the products that I used from this new release:

I don't know about you, but I just ADORE all the fonts that Laura used on these stamp sets. The script font is just amazing!!! I hope for many more stamp sets using this font....hint, hint.

This month Lil' Inker Designs is celebrating our 4th birthday!!!!!  To celebrate we have one more goodie we're releasing today as a bonus item! It's something you've been asking us for and what better way to celebrate our fourth year of fun than with a goodie especially for you our lovely, amazing and supportive customers and friends!
My friends I give you Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangles! This is a follow up release to our wildly popular Stitched Mats: Rectangles. You'll receive a set of 6 individual nested dies on a magnetic sheet for easy storage and each die in this set cuts a rounded rectangle (which is a bit different from our original set because the largest die in our original set only cut a stitched border). If you love our original set or have been waiting for a rounded set, now's the time!!
Thank you for four amazing and fun years! This one has been a big one so far with the release our our rebranding and a brand new website. I've been one busy lady and we've been one busy team!!! And we have such an amazing team of designers. Thank you to all of you for making our goodies shine!!

Scraptastic "Summer Nights" Wrap-up

August 6, 2014

Hey there, blog friends!!  Happy Wednesday to you!  I hope that your week is going well so far!  Since I was gone for most of July, I never really had a chance to share all of my Scraptastic Kit Club projects for the month, so I figured I would do a quick wrap-up today.

I used the Summer Nights kit & add-on this month, which was full of Simple Stories product that I just loved!  Lots of woodgrain & rainbows included....perfect for summer themed cards.  For all of my cards today, I've also added glittery gold peeking out from diecut windows.  Check them out!
The Scraptastic kits are always chalk full of amazing stickers & embellishments that let you create to your hearts content.  For all of my cards I literally just started layering things....larger items first, and then adding smaller things here & there until I felt the cards were finished.  I LOVE creating this way...it is my favorite process because it is so unplanned & free!!

Card Challenges:
-The Shabby Tea Room #230 - inspiration photo
-Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - sparkle

Thanks for checking out my cards today....sorry for such a short post.  I've gotta run for now!!

Until later,
~L.

ME & Me August Challenge

August 1, 2014

Happy 1st day of August, blog friends!  {Seriously...can you believe it is already August. My head just exploded.}  A new month also means a new ME & Me challenge, and as you can see...this month we are using watercolor & a birthday theme!

This is only my second attempt at using the watercoloring technique.  The first time I did it I used Tim Holtz distress inks & a spray bottle.  This time I actually used watercolors & a brush...and I am really happy with how it turned out!  Be easy on me though....I am not a painter, nor do I actually know anything about watercolor!  :)

I combined the watercoloring with the Mama Elephant "Make A Wish" stamp set, and just a couple of pretty accents.  I didn't want to take away from the two main elements of our challenge. Here is the card that I created!
Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from white cardstock.
2. Cut watercolor paper slightly smaller, then paint it.
3. Once dry, stamp the sentiment over top of the painted area.
4. Punch a half circle to the lower left side, then wrap gold thread strung with gold stars around it.
5. Adhere the painted piece to the card front.
6. Accent the upper left corner with a gold star, sequin & gold enamel dot to finish.

Card Challenges:
-Studio Calico Sunday Sketch
-The Card Concept #15 - color challenge
-SSS Work It Wednesday July 2014 - blue
-SSS Wednesday - anything goes

Here are the rules for playing along with us in this month's challenge:

  • Your entry must use at least one Mama Elephant stamp
  • Your entry must be based on the challenge/inspiration source provided
  • Your entry must link back to this blog post along with the graphic image
  • Winner gets featured and a stamp set of choice
  • Deadline is August
  • Link up using the Inlinkz on the bottom of the August challenge post
  • Have fun, stamp, stamp, stamp!!!
Be sure to check out what the rest of the challenge team has created for this month's challenge as well!

Thanks so much for checking out my post today...I hope that you liked my card today!  Have an awesome start to your August!

Until later,
~L.
