LID June Release - Day 1

May 31, 2015

It's that time again...new stamps & dies from Lil' Inker Designs!!  There are some amazing things in store for you over the next few days, so I hope you are looking forward to some inspiration.

Today I am focusing on some of the new BABY items that are releasing this month!!  Oh how I love baby items right now...something about being almost 20 weeks pregnant & just in total baby mode!  I've created a sweet little reveal card...although I think you would know what it was BEFORE scratching off the reveal sticker.  Lol...I wasn't too sneaky with the colors!

DISCLAIMER:  This is NOT a reveal of what my little one is.  Lol!  As of right now, he/she is baby Lawson, and could be either a boy or a girl.  You can speculate as much as you'd like, but mum is the word over here until we do our gender reveal photo shoot! :)

I chose a really soft cashmere pink for this card, and just love the little bit of color that peeks in behind the eyelet coverplate.  And aren't the scratch away stickers such a COOL idea?!  You are going to LOVE using them, and they work perfectly with this sweet little baby set.

Here is a peek at my projects:
This kit just makes me think of my grandma, and how she still corresponds with me via mail.  She always carefully picks out a beautiful card, and then proceeds to tell me what her & grandpa have been up to on the farm, and how the weather has been.  I like to think that my love for cardmaking, and still sending them to family & friends is a trait that I've gotten from her.

The Nostalgic Notions kit is full of feminine patterns & beautiful color combinations.  I am in love with just about every piece of it, but my favorite is the patterned paper.  It has a lovely linen texture to it, and each sheet is just gorgeous.

Here is a look at each of my projects for today:
Another favorite in the paper are the pre-printed buttons that can be diecut with all the different button dies in the kit.  They make for great embellishments & clusters!

I used the same design on this card as the first, but changed the color scheme.  Because you get multiple designs of each patterned paper, you can easily create some matching cards to make into a gift set!

There are also these gorgeous envelopes included that you just trim & adhere together.  They match everything perfectly (of course), and look beautiful decorated as well!  For this one I just added a little bit of patterned paper, and then created hook using a diecut button & real button.

I've had so much fun using the Make It Market: Nostalgic Notions kit, and foresee using it often in the future.  The sentiments are classic & beautiful, and the possibilities of the layered flowers are endless!

I know that I can't wait to check out what the rest of the team created, so be sure to check them all out!
Thanks for checking out my post today!  I would love to hear what you think of the kit & my projects.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

Until later,
~L.

Winnie & Walter + Pinkfresh Studio iNSD challenge - card sketch

May 2, 2015

Happy iNSD day, blog friends!!  Today we at Winnie & Walter are joining up with Pinkfresh Studio to create projects, issue challenges & give prizes to celebrate the day!

For my first challenge of the day, I'm playing along with our card sketch challenge!

Winnie & Walter is offering up a $25 gift certificate to one lucky winner of this challenge!  Please get all the details on the Winnie & Walter blog for how to participate!  Here is my take on the sketch:
I used strips of Pinkfresh Studio papers from the Up in the Clouds collection to create my background, and then diecut the sentiment from another matching paper.  After adhering the papers to the front, I embellished the card with gold glitter stars to finish.  Easy peasy...such a great sketch for a clean & graphic look!

To get all the iNSD details going on at the Winnie & Walter blog today, please reference THIS POST.  It will have all the links & info you need!!  I hope you enjoy your day of crafting & fun!

Until later,
~L.

Winnie& Walter April/May Release - Day 4

May 1, 2015

It is time for another new release of stamps & Cutaways from Winnie & Walter!!  For you chance to win all of the new stamp sets, check out the Big Giveaway post on the Winnie & Walter blog!

Today we are sharing more new stamps & a Cutaway that have a bling & sparkle theme!  You can see a full reveal of all items, plus enter for your chance to win them on today's Winnie & Walter blog post.

For my first card I've focused on some of the stamp sets with bling & gemstones...the sentiment fonts are just beautiful!
I watercolored the background with Tim Holtz distress inks.  I kept the colors bold, and created more of a tie-dye feel to it.  Once it was dry, I flicked droplets of water on to it.  When you soak them back up with a paper towel it will take some of the ink with it, creating a nice bokeh effect.  After that I stamped & embossed the gems in gold.  I stamped the sentiment a strip of white cardstock, then cut arrow shaped ends to it.  I layered it to the front with a knot of gold thread, then accented with the flourishes to finish.

For my next card I used the new Mini Scenery stamp set, and did yet another rainbow colored card.
I stamped & heat embossed the faceted scenery to a block of white art paper.  Then I watercolored it in a rainbow gradient.  Once dry I mounted it to a black cardbase.  Then I diecut the word hello from patterned paper, and the tag from black cardstock.  I stamped & heat embossed the word friend to the black tag, then layered both cuts to the card front.  I accented it with some jewels to finish.

Tonight is the night!!! All of our new stamps & dies will be available for purchase tonight in the Winnie & Walter store...so start making your wishlist, and be ready to go add those goodies into your cart!!

I hope you have an awesome day!

Until later,
~L.
