There are two really amazing stamp sets being revealed today, but I only had time to create with one of them, and I chose Yetitide Greetings. I WILL be using the Nutcracker themed set in the VERY near future, so be sure to check back soon, or keep an eye out on Instagram! I decided to create a fun little scene with the skiing & snowboarding Yetis. WAAAYYY back in the day, I loved to ski. And I remember getting so mad at snowboarders for the edge that they make in the snow. I had a BIG garage sale on the slopes one day because of an edge...do you know what that is? It's where you eat it so hard that you lose all your gear as you tumble down the mountain. Typically skiers will bring you your items as they come down from above you....lol! I'm pretty sure I spent the rest of the day by the fire in the lodge... Anyways, I've decided that these Yetis must have some solidarity, so that's what's going on here. :)

I will be honest with you - I don't often use colors this primary. And I don't often do cards that are more masculine in general - but I have to confess something. I learned how to drive stick shift on my dad's baja bug in the mountains of Arizona, and I have always had a special place for all the stamps & dies that have come out with a bug toting a Christmas tree...but I have NEVER purchased any for some reason. So...this is my first stamp set with this image, and I KNEW it was the image I would focus on first from the set! I just love it! I also purchased this plaid paper last year from the Mad 4 Plaid Christmas collection by Paper Photo Play...and never used them. It's a travesty....lol! I thought that dark plaid was a perfect background for this card, and helped keep it in the masculine theme!

Today I am focusing on the new Peppermint Zone coverplate, which is AMAZING! I love the creative screening, and am so excited to now have a matching diecut! And I also focused on the new In A Word: Grand Merry stamp set with coordinating dies. To start, I diecut the Pappermint Zone coverplate from pink textured Bazzill cardstock that I've had in my stash for quite a long time. Now, I technically think this diecut is meant to cut directly from your card base, but I knew that I wanted to add dimension. So after diecutting it, I just used my trimmer to cut it out in A2 size. Then I placed it to the front of an A2 card covered in white glitter paper.

Happy Monday, friends! I hope that you had a wonderful holiday weekend - and that you were able to take advantage of some good deals if you were in shopping mode! It is Cyber Monday, and we've got one final day of big savings for you at Pinkfresh Studio!
http://shrsl.com/11ctf
For today only, you can take 25% off of anything from the store that is in-stock! A sale like this is rare for us, so it is a great time to grab all those Pinkfresh Studio goodies that have been on your wishlist!

I'm still on my Holiday Vibes kick, and if you didn't grab in during our Black Friday sale....you can still get it today using the 25% off code! While it isn't as good of a deal as Black Friday, you CAN combine it with all the stamps & dies that you want...which makes it even more awesome!! I've combined the Holiday Vibes 6x6 paper pad and Embellishment bundle with my favorite Pinkfresh Studio background dies!

Pinkfresh Studio - Holiday Vibes cards

November 24, 2018

Happy Saturday, blog friends!  I hope that you are having an awesome weekend so far! Today I wanted to pop in and share some cards that I've created using the Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Vibes paper collection. We introduced that we will be offering our paper collections for sale on our website now in bundle form! And we are kicking it off with Black Friday savings on the Holiday Vibes bundles!
http://shrsl.com/1avvj

Now thru Sunday at 11:59pm CST, use the code HVIBES50OFF to get 50% off our Holiday Vibes bundles - we have three options. There is an embellishments bundle, and then you can add the 12x12 paper pack or 6x6 paper pad...or grab all three! Just be sure to use the code upon checkout - that is the only way to get the 50% savings!

You may not know, but I started out in this industry as a scrapbooker. And while my scrapbooking style is a little rusty, I do still love creating with paper & embellishments...and hope to showcase this style more from now on. So for today I created three super fun cards using the Holiday Vibes collection without any stamping! There is a little diecutting on the card with the mountains, but other than that it is all elements from the collection and some fussy cutting!

Pinkfresh Studio - Grateful for your Kindness

November 22, 2018

Happy Thanksgiving, blog friends! I hope that you are having a lovely day whether you celebrate Thanksgiving today or not. I wanted to drop by and just tell you that I am super grateful for YOU, your comments and the support you give me here in my little crafty world. I truly appreciate it!

I'm taking a quick break from my day to pop in and share this Thanksgiving themed Thank You card with you featuring the lovely Bloom stamp set from Pinkfresh Studio. I adore this stamp set, with it's clean & graphic sentiments and daintily drawn florals...it's just plain lovely.

To start this card, I stamped & heat embossed the florals to heavyweight white cardstock in Gilded embossing powder. I watercolored them using Distress Inks in the following colors: wild honey, victorian velvet, spun sugar, peeled paint & crushed olive. Then I set the entire panel aside to let the watercolor dry.

Ellen Hutson - 12th Anniversary Celebration

November 19, 2018

Happy Monday, blog friends! Thank you for being patient with me after my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Blog Series. As I mentioned, I came down with one of the worst cold viruses I've ever had, and it really dropped me. I haven't been that sick in I don't know how long! I'm feeling a lot better now, and am getting back to my day to day. I did want to mention that the winner from my week long Pinkfresh Studio Giveaway has been posted on my giveaway page....be sure to check it out and see if it was you! {I haven't heard from the winner yet!} I'm also in the middle of completely redoing my craft area, so it is a giant mess!

But that didn't stop me from creating a card to celebrate Ellen Hutson's 12th Anniversary today! Plus, they are having a GREAT Anniversary promotion with an exclusive FREE gift with purchase! Shop now to get the best selection, and to get your hands on this exclusive freebie!
http://www.ellenhutson.com/#_a_167

I met Ellen this past January at Creativation, and she is one of the warmest people I have ever met. It's not always easy to have conversations about everything that has gone on in my life, but she took the time to talk with me about Ellie & Layton. I'm always grateful to those who are willing, and don't back away from the uncomfortable nature of the subject. I'm also grateful when people understand why I tear up, and give me giant hugs rather than trying to move along. And that is exactly what Ellen did for me when we met. She is a true gem & light in this world.

Two Years.

November 17, 2018

It's that time of year when I feel it more. The anxious reminder of everything that happened that night…of everything I saw.

When I write that, it doesn't mean this is the only time of year that I feel the depth of Layton's death. The sting has dulled, but grief has become a constant companion. It's like a soulmate. Always there. Invisibly holding my hand in the moments when I weep alone. A constant that will be with me until the moment I take my last breath. And while the weight of Layton's death doesn't feel like it's trying to drive me into the ground any longer, it will always be part of my daily life.

What I'm talking about is the nightmare. The flashbacks of everything that I watched happen to my son that night. Everything that had to be done to try and save his life…and in the end it just wasn't enough. I've always said that I will never verbalize what I saw that night, and I stand by that truth. While it haunts me, it's not how I want Layton to be remembered. He deserves to be remembered as the sweetest, cutest baby boy who fought for every moment of his incredible life.

When I look back on what I wrote last year, I was so angry. But I think that is pretty normal. Year one is hard…raw…everything still feels so volatile. Over the span of year two that rawness has softened. I still feel his loss deep within the depths of my soul. Every single day I miss that beautiful baby boy more than I can share in words. But it's easier to talk about him without bursting into tears. It's easier to answer the question, "Do you have kids?" And if I do cry, I'm okay with it. Because grief and the tears that come from it are just love in action.

Layton's life, though far too short, was an incredible blessing. He touched more people in his 5 months on this earth than many do in an entire lifetime. I wish he were here. But since he can't be here, I can think of no better place than in the arms of our Savior, waiting for us in Heaven's Nursery. What a day that will be, my friends, when we are reunited not only with Layton, but our sweet Ellie too. Until then little ones…we love you and miss you every single second of every single day.

Love, mommy & daddy.

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Series - Day 5 + GIVEAWAY

November 9, 2018

Happy Friday, blog friends! Welcome to day 5 of my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Card Series on my blog this week. Thanks for sticking with me & leaving me such sweet comments....I really do appreciate them all! Of course, I've got my week long giveaway - and here is all that info.

GIVEAWAY
This is over $300 in Pinkfresh Studio goodies - some that have been gently used, but all of it in perfect condition. I am currently in the middle of overhauling my crafting area to make it more efficient. By choice we live in a small home, thus my crafting area isn't huge either. This change in my area is actually going to give me less storage, but more efficiency - which is NEEDED. With that being said, all of the items above have retired from Pinkfresh Studio. And while they are still amazing products, my schedule does not allow for creating with items that are retired. So my busyness is your gain...lol!

How to win? All you have to do is leave a comment on my posts! Make sure you stop by each day this week after noon CST (that is when the posts will go live), and you will have more chances to win! Here are the links for previous days:

You can gain one extra entry by following me on Instagram, and/or subscribing to my YouTube channel. Leave one comment if you do either, or both. Please - only ONE extra comment. I will post the winner on my GIVEAWAY PAGE on Sunday, November 11th by 2pm CST.

This giveaway is open to all, BUT...if you are international I will ask that you pay for the additional shipping charges required. I will be sending this entire shipment in a flat rate Priority Mail box, and I am willing to pay what the shipping charge is in the US. By commenting as an Int'l friend, you are telling me that you are willing to pay for the extra shipping via PayPal. Thank you for understanding - Int'l shipping is very expensive, but I still wanted to keep this giveaway open to all. This is the only way I can make that happen.

You might be asking - why not spread the wealth each day? Well, friends...shipping is expensive, even within the US. Plus my schedule is super busy, and it is just easier for me to pick one winner for it all. Feel free to share the love if you are the winner!

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Series - Day 4 + GIVEAWAY

November 8, 2018

Happy Thursday, friends! Welcome to day 3 of my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Card Series on my blog this week. Still sick & sounding terrible - but I did actually drive to Target today to get more cough medicine. So you know...I've got that going for me. ;)

As I mentioned in the previous days, I have one HUGE giveaway for the entire week. So, I will be giving you that info each day!

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Series - Day 3 + GIVEAWAY

November 7, 2018

Happy Wednesday, friends! Welcome to day 3 of my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Card Series on my blog this week. I am severely under the weather right now, but thankfully I already had all these cards created & photographed...so it's not too much to sit & write up a blog post. I am super thankful for that! I have a wedding show this weekend, so if you are the praying type....I would love if you could send some up for me that I will be feeling & sounding better by then.

As I mentioned in the previous days, I have one HUGE giveaway for the entire week. So, I will be giving you that info each day!

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Series - Day 2 + GIVEAWAY

November 6, 2018

Happy Tuesday, friends! Welcome to day 2 of my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Card Series on my blog this week. I'm sorry if this post is a little late - I've come down with a really severe cold infection, and I had a last minute doctor's appointment to make sure it wasn't strep. Thankfully...it's not! So rest, fluids & cough medicine are in my future for the time being.

As I mentioned, I have one HUGE giveaway for the entire week. So, I will be giving you that info each day!

GIVEAWAY
This is over $300 in Pinkfresh Studio goodies - some that have been gently used, but all of it in perfect condition. The reason for so many items? I have a very small crafting area, and these have all recently retired from our stamp/die collection. My schedule doesn't really allow for using retired items, nor does my space allow for them. But these are all still really amazing items, and my need to save space is your gain!

How to win? All you have to do is leave a comment on my posts! Make sure you stop by each day this week after noon CST (that is when the posts will go live), and you will have more chances to win! Here are the links for previous days:

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Series - Day 1 + GIVEAWAY

November 5, 2018

Happy Monday, friends! As I mentioned in my post on Thursday, I am doing a Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards series on my blog this week! I created all these cards in July when the stamps/dies released, but I wanted to wait to share them on my blog closer to the holidays. It is going to be 5 days of holiday inspiration, and one HUGE giveaway! How about I give you that info first?!

GIVEAWAY
Friends, this is well over $300 in Pinkfresh Studio goodies that is going to go to one lucky winner at the end of this week! Some of the items have been gently used, so there might be a couple items with ink stains. But everything is in perfect condition other than that, and many items have never been used before.

How to win? All you have to do is leave a comment on my posts! Make sure you stop by each day this week after noon CST (that is when the posts will go live), and you will have more chances to win!

You can gain one extra entry by following me on Instagram, and/or subscribing to my YouTube channel. Leave one comment if you do either, or both. Please - only ONE extra comment. I will post the winner on my GIVEAWAY PAGE on Sunday, November 11th by 2pm CST.
