Pinkfresh Studio Frame Builders + Final Days for March Challenge

March 27, 2020

Happy Friday, crafty friends! How are you doing during this strange time in our world? We just got our shelter in place orders from our governor until at least April 10th. However, we traveled to NYC in early March, so we've been distancing since returning home just in case we had contracted the virus. So far so good - no symptoms and we feel great. Honestly - other than not being able to go to the gym everyday, which is a HUGE bummer for me...my life hasn't really changed that much. I work from home as is, and all that has affected my work life is we had to cancel some of my travel & events. That's a bummer too, but they will get rescheduled...even if it is next year.

I did want to mention that Houston, where Pinkfresh Studio headquarters is located, is also under a shelter in place order. Which means our warehouse has to remain closed and we cannot ship orders until the order is lifted by local government. At this time it is tentatively set to lift on April 6th, but that can be pushed back if the city deems it necessary. All orders from the Monday release will start shipping as soon as the shelter in place order has been lifted.

Rather than continuing with our usual weekend promos during this time, we are just going to extend the free US or discounted international shipping on orders $35+ until the order is lifted. Use the code below based on your location in order to take advantage of the shipping promo. We are still taking orders & processing payment, but please remember that shipping will not resume until we can get back into the warehouse.

Trust me - we are SO sad about this, but we also completely understand the reason for it. And we cannot WAIT to get back to shipping your orders, and seeing what you create with our new Essentials Slim Cuts. Until then, we encourage you to connect & create with us using the Pinkfresh Studio products you have on hand!

One way to create for a chance to win a $50 gift card to our shop is to enter our monthly challenge! The March "Frame It" Challenge is in its final days, and you have until Tuesday, March 31st at 11:59pm to get a papercrafting creation linked up! This challenge is for ANY type of papercrafts: cards, layouts, mini albums, notebook spreads, DIY decor, tags, & more! Here is the March challenge graphic for reference, but be sure to head over to the challenge post for the rest of the details!

I've created this trio of cards featuring our My Favorite Story paper collection, and our Frame Builder dies, along with the Phrase Builder: Sending die set for the sentiments. I have used the 6x6 Paper Pad (SSS | SB.com) and Fabric Bows (SSS | SB.com) from the My Favorite Story collection on all three cards. The patterned paper background panels were all cut with the largest Essentials: Stitched Rectangle, which added the perfect stitched touch to each card! Finally, the glitter paper I used on each card was purchased at Michael's - it is from Martha Stewart and is the champagne color.

This first card features the Frame Builder: Botanical Triangle die set, and I've also used the Floral Ephemera pack (SSS | SB.com) behind the gorgeous triangle. On all three cards, I've diecut the botanical frames and phrase builders words multiple times and then stacked with a glue pen. These dies are very dainty, and it would be quite cumbersome to add foam tape behind it, so I find this to be the best way to add dimension and sturdiness to the cut! All three cards have been accented with our gorgeous Essentials: Crystals Mix. These are out of stock, but you can sign up for a restock notification in the product link. We are expecting our reorder at the end of April. :)

This next card features the Frame Builder: Botanical Circle die set. I didn't realize this set was also sold out everywhere, but never fear, it will come back in stock! Like the jewels, you can sign up for a restock notification in the product link. I've cut out the middle of the top layer with the largest Essentials: Stitched Scallop Circle die.

My final card features the Frame Builder: Botanical Diamond die set. This set can also be used as a square for added versatility! I've also added a Puffy Sticker (SSS | SB.com) from the My favorite Story collection to help convey the sentiment.

I just love combining all the amazing dies that Pinkfresh Studio has to offer with our paper collections for scrapbooking style cards! I hope it gives you some inspiration to try it out as well. If you find yourself with some crafty time this weekend, why not try out the Pinkfresh Studio March challenge?

That is everything I have for you today! If you have any questions about my card, feel free to leave them in the comments and I will be sure to reply.

Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I would love to be crafty friends!

Have a great start to your weekend!

We've also included 2 sets of edgers, slimline ornate banners and two peek-a-boo circle backgrounds. Here is a look at the 9 new dies + our Detail Black ink!

MARCH 2020 RELEASE

I've created an Essentials Slim Cuts intro video for you today, with information on the sizing that we've used and a closer look at all the new dies and Detail Black ink. You can watch it below, but be sure to click HERE and leave a comment for a chance to win the entire Essentials Slim Cuts release!

We've got a fantastic blog hop lineup and prizes at every stop! I'll get to all of that info at the end of my post, but how about we get to my cards first?

SLIM DIAGONAL STITCHED RECTANGLES
My first card uses the Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles die set, where I've created a cute mountain scene with the adorable Falling For You stamp set and coordinating dies. I've also used our Radiating Background 2 die for the sky, and did some rainbow ink blending with our premium dye inks. Finally, I stamped all of the images in our brand new Detail Black ink. We took MONTHS to perfect this hybrid black ink that works for both watercolor & alcohol markers. It also stamps crisp & clean, leaving a perfect impression every time.

For the ink blending, I've actually used Hammermill smooth white cardstock that I purchased on Amazon. LinkDeli is not playing nicely with my Amazon account for some reason, so I'm only able to link to it within my post. My friends Angelica & Caly turned me on to this cardstock for ink blending, and it is fantastic! I accented inside of the sun with our Essentials: Crystals mix in rainbow order.

I added some glitter to the snowcaps on the mountains, and at the end of the gushing waterfall! I'm not great at ink blending small things, so instead I colored in the trees, clouds & tents with Zig Clean Colors Real Brush Markers.

I just LOVE this sweet scene building stamp set, and all the possibilities it has with our new slimline dies!

SLIM STITCHED SCALLOP CIRCLE & SLIM STITCHED RECTANGLES
This next card I diecut the Slim Stitched Scallop Circle panel first, then cut it again with the largest Slim Stitched Rectangle die. The second cut only added the stitched detail around the edge, as the panel was already cut to size during the first cut. The purple background is stamped & heat embossed in white using our Diamond Tiles background stamp, then I added some ink blending to peek through the scallop circles. The floral clusters were stamped using our Lovely Blossoms stamp set and coordinating dies with our premium dye inks. This is a really easy stamp layering set that packs a big punch!

The sentiment was created using our Essentials: Classic Words die set and the Blooming Bouquet stamp set. I stamped "mother's day" in detail black ink, then trimmed into a thin banner. I finished the card by accenting with our Essentials: Jewels Mix.

I was so excited when I finished this card, because it came together exactly as I envisioned it! That doesn't always happen, so when it does...it makes me a little bit giddy!

SLIM EDGERS & SLIM LACEY EDGERS
My next three cards use the Slim Edgers and Slim Lacey Edgers dies. You know I love rainbow colors, so I created a rainbow gradient from brightly colored cardstock.

This first card layers together one of the Slim Edger dies. The sentiment from Folk Hummingbird is stamped in our new Detail Black ink. Then I accented it with our Essentials: Crystals Mix.

The second card actually uses the negative from cutting the strips for the first card, as I don't like to waste anything! I cut our Sentiment Suite: Hello die from champagne glitter paper and white cardstock, then stacked them together for dimension. I also accented this card with our Essentials: Crystals Mix.

The final card also used the rest of the paper scraps from the cuts above, and this time I cut them with one of the Slim Lacey Edgers. I added a white frame around the card using our Slim Stitched Rectangle die set. The sentiment was created using our Phrase Builders: You die set and stamped from the Flower Garden stamp set. Finally, I accented it with our Essentials: Jewels Mix.

Creating rainbow gradients is super easy with our edger dies! I hope you will pick them up and try them out!
Those are all the cards I have to share with you today! How about we get to all the info you need for this new release!

Spellbinders Modern Essentials & Bold Type Sentiments Collection

March 12, 2020

Hi there, crafty friends! We just arrived home from our trip to NYC, and we had the BEST time. What an amazing city! I couldn't live there, but I enjoyed the hustle, bustle and all there was to do for 6 days. I wanted to pop in today and share some cards I've created using a couple new Spellbinders collections called Modern Essentials and Bold Type Face Sentiments.  This post is quite timely, because Spellbinders has a Glimmer Sale going on now through March 17th, where you can get the Glimmer System for $99! I can't express enough how much I love this little machine, so be sure to scoop it up if it's been on your wishlist!

If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE Essentials and I LOVE word dies. So this release was right up my alley! I decided to go with a rainbow theme for the sentiments, then kept the rest of the card design simple in order to really highlight those amazing Modern Essentials Glimmer plates.

For this square card I foiled the Essential Glimmer Circles in gold to white cardstock, then diecut with the Nestabilities Essential Squares.  I diecut the Bold Type Happy word twice from rainbow striped cardstock that I created myself, then 4 more times from white cardstock. I cut them mutiple times so I could stack the sentiment and give it more dimension and sturdiness. Then I foiled the More Sentiments Glimmer plates to cashmere cardstock and trimmed into a banner. I assembled the card together as shown, popping the square background up with a full panel of foam adhesive. The final step was accenting with the Crystals Mix to finish.

My second card was created almost exactly the same way. For this one I foiled the Essentials Glimmer Rectangle plates in gold to white cardstock, then diecut with the Nestabilities Essential Rectangles. I diecut the etched Bold Type Congrats word from rainbow striped cardstock that I created myself, then 4 more times from white cardstock & stacked together. Then I foiled the More Sentiments Glimmer plates to cashmere cardstock and trimmed into a banner. I assembled the card together as shown, popping the background up with a full panel of foam adhesive. The final step was accenting with the Crystals Mix to finish.

These new Modern Essentials are really fantastic! There are more shapes that I can't wait to use in the future, and you can see them all in the Full Bundle. This is a great way to purchase them all, as you get almost $40 in savings!

That is everything I have for you today! If you have any questions about my card, feel free to leave them in the comments and I will be sure to reply.

You can see more foiling blog posts HERE & HERE, plus a YouTube Video HERE. If you are interested in foiling, now is a great time to purchase the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, as it is discounted to $99 now through 3/17!

Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I would love to be crafty friends online!
Wishing you a wonderful Thursday!
