Happy Sunday, friends!! I hope that your weekend has been a great one so far! Yesterday we went and watched our friend's daughter compete at a cheerleading competition put on by the UofM Griz cheerleaders called "Glam Jam". Man...it brought back so many great memories! Sammi did SO great and she was SO cute....she was on a mini's team, which is the youngest and the cutest! We stayed and watched the rest of the competition, and I was so back in my element. I kept thinking of how fun it would be to do if we ever have a little girl. The Griz cheerleaders did a little exhibition at the end...in a uniform that I wore when I cheered there...and it just brought me back. I cheered for 12 years of my life, and they were the best years of my non-married life.
Anyways...today I want to share the cards that I made for the Glitz booth at CHA using "Laced with Grace" papers! Hope you like them!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope that you are having a great weekend so far. We had a super fun night with our friends last night...tips & tots at the Bodega, and then games at Grant's place. Our friends Ashley & Jesse brought over their new little puppy, and he is just SO sweet!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! Well, my packages are all sent off to GCD Studios and Glitz Design, and I am wiping off the paper dust & glitter...and coming up for some air! Tee hee! I am not going to post the instructions for this one, but I just wanted to make a point that you don't have to use the round JustRite sets only on circles. For the sentiment tag, I stamped the JustRite round stamper first. Then I stamped the banner over top of the round area that I wanted to showcase, and cut it out! It was as easy as pie, and gives you another option for using the versatile JustRite stampers! So, don't be afraid to step away from the circle and use them in a different and fun way!

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend so far! We went to a late birthday dinner on Friday night with my parents, Casey and his girl Tara at Lydia's in Butte. And then headed back to my parents house for the night, and went ice fishing yesterday! Well, I didn't ice fish....but I did take lots of photos. Which I will share at some point...once I actually have the time to upload and edit them.

Earlier in the week, I shared with you how I am trying to save more on the things we use often in our household. Well, I have a couple more saving wins to share with you today! Here is what I saved on:
Other than my dad....I am pretty sure this is a ladies zone, so I feel comfortable posting about the female product. Anyways, the Carefree packages normally cost $1.49-1.99 depending on the store. Walgreen's had a coupon making them $.99 this week, and then I found a $.50 off coupon online that I could print out twice. So, I purchased two and got them for $.49 each. The soup was also at Walgreen's, and it had a coupon making the price 4/$5.00. I found a manufacturer's coupon online for $1.00 off 2, and I was able to print it twice. The total price for each can of soup dropped to $.75. This soup regularly priced pretty much everywhere is around $3 each. It is often on sale, but not for as cheap as I got it!
I had to shop at the {dreaded} Walmart to get the Motrin and Teriyaki sauce for the best price, but I went during a time that the store is normally less busy. It worked for me, and if it is going to save me some money...well then, I guess I will take one for the team. Getting the deal on these 4 items took only about 30 minutes of my time, and I think it was 30 minutes well spent, because I also got other needed errands done as well.

Instructions: Fold red cardstock in half to make card base, and round the bottom corners. Round the bottom corners of a heart paper block. Cut a 4" circle from cream cardstock, ink the edges, and adhere to the front of the card, trimming the excess from the right side. Adhere a strip of branch paper just below the sentiment, and then adhere a strip of dotted paper to the right side. Cut a scalloped edge to a striped paper strip and adhere to the branch paper. Add lace trim over that seam, then tie ribbon around the bottom of the branch paper. Accent the middle of the bow with a button using twine. Adhere the entire block to the front of the card, and accent the lower left corner with pearls. Stamp the sentiment and hot air balloon to the cream circle, then accent with pearls and a heart jewel. Cut two clouds from felt and adhere the first one to the front. Accent the second felt cloud with buttons & twine, then adhere to the front, slightly overlapping the other cloud and the stamped balloon.
We were given a lovely sketch from Sankari Wegman that we could use if we wanted. I did chose to use it, because it was fabulous {as always}! Here is the sketch:

Michelle sent me these wonderful stamps, papers and lace trim to use. Instructions: Fold aqua cardstock in half to make card base, and round the bottom corners. Round the bottom corners of a floral paper block, and adhere to the front. Round the bottom corners of an aqua floral paper block, and adhere the sentiment strip to the middle. Wrap lace trim around the seam, and then tie ribbon around the top of the trim. Add a button to the middle of the bow using twine. Adhere the entire block to the front of the card. Cut the scalloped circle at 2.5" and the circle at 2.25" using the Storybook cartridge. Stamp and heat emboss the friendship definition to the circle, and then adhere to the pink scalloped circle. Adhere the entire piece to card. Stamp the flowers to patterned paper, cut out and then layer together. Adhere to the card, and then accent with pearls and glitter Stickles.

Happy super late Sunday night!! My mojo decided to take a quick trip to no man's land, but lo & behold...it has come back in the wee hours. Since I wasn't tired, I decided to go ahead and get a card made. When the mojo feels the need to flow again...it is important to feed it. Tee hee!

Instructions: Fold white cardstock in half to make card base. Punch a border to a red dotted paper strip, and adhere to the right side of a snowflake paper block. Adhere the entire block to the front of the card. Tie ribbon to the top of the card, and add a button the the bow using twine. Cut & emboss the tag, and then stamp the sentiment to it. Adhere to the front of the card and accent with three jewels. Cut the ice skate layers at 2" using the Winter Woodland cartridge. Glitter the white layer, and then adhere them together. Adhere them to the front of the card, and accent with silver puff balls. Tie twine around the button and then tie in a bow on the skates to make it look like they are hanging from it. Accent the lower right corner with three jewels to finish.
So, I have decided to try my hand at shopping the weekly ads and couponing. I am by no means going to become an extreme couponer...buying things that I don't need just because I can get them for next to nothing. For one...I don't have the storage space. For two...that just isn't how I roll. But, I do want to make a conscious effort to save on the things that we use often in our household. I figure that it might be more fun, and I might make a harder effort at it if I share with my readers what I saved on...and let you know how I did it. These are the items that I got today, that we use all the time in our house, and I got a great deal on them!
Dove deodorant costs us anywhere from $2.99-3.99 per stick. Walgreen's had a coupon in their Sunday ad dropping the price to $1.99 per stick, and I could buy a quantity of 4. Then Dove's website had a coupon that gave me $1.50 off of 2 sticks, and I could print it out twice. After the store & mfgr. coupons...I paid $1.24 per stick. I think that is pretty darn good for a brand that I am loyal to.

I had (4) $1.00 off coupons from the Sunday paper, making them $1.74 ea. If you pull the candles out of their Febreze packaging, they are just pretty candles in a glass jar and they smell fabulous. They would make a lovely small gift, or a great addition to a larger gift.
I also used some birthday money on these fabulous flats for 75% off, making them a whole $4.98!! Tee hee!

Today is my birthday, and I am SO excited that I get to share the day with you while celebrating the latest special issue from Paper Crafts magazine called "Color Inspiration for Card Makers". I have 15 cards in this special issue, and that makes it very special for me. I am so honored to be on the pages of this book, among some of the most amazing card designers in the industry...sometimes I have to pinch myself when I am looking through the book.

Instructions: Fold pink dotted cardstock in half to make card base. Cut one large yellow paper block and two smaller green paper blocks. Adhere the two smaller blocks to the upper left and lower right corners of the yellow block. Add blue paper frill to each side of the block, and then adhere the entire piece to the front of the card. Adhere the yellow dotted flower to the lower right green block. Stamp the sentiment to a white cardstock strip, and cut a flag shape to the left side of it. Adhere the sentiment strip over a portion of the yellow flower, and then accent with pink & green paper flowers. Finish the card by accenting it with 4 colored jewels.

This special issue was so amazing to work on. I am so passionate about color, and I loved the challenge of using all these fabulous color combos. It was so fun to have my little Bazzill swatches in front of me, and then going through all of the different product that I own...making sure it matched perfectly, shade by shade. I really enjoyed the process, and I hope that one day Paper Crafts will decide to do another Color Inspiration issue because it was a really awesome experience.

Two posts in one day?! I know, right? I have a special post to share with you tomorrow, but I wanted to share these couple of cards before the weekend. Thus...two posts today. So, let's just get right to it!
My first card uses Get Sketchy #69, and the colors from OTWC Challenge #40 {burgundy, tan & white}. I was just waiting and waiting for my PTI order to come in for this sketch, and thankfully they came today! So, I was able to participate! Here is my card:

"My Home is Wherever You Are" supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics
Stamps/Dies: Papertrey Ink (Love Lives Here set & dies, Fillable Frames #4 set & die)
Ink: Clearsnap (Pigment: dune, merlot, frost white)
Ribbon: Renaissance by Design
Pearls: Kaiser Craft
Corner Rounder: EK Success
Embossing Folder: Love Language by Provo Craft
Diecut/Embossing Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Instructions: Fold burgundy cardstock in half to make card base. Round the korners of a kraft cardstock block, and cut the frame opening. Dry emboss the hearts to it using the Cuttlebug & Love Language embossing folder. Lay the kraft block on the front of the card, and trace the frame opening lightly with pencil. Remove the cardstock block, and stamp the frame image & sentiment inside the tracing. Tie ribbon around the bottom of the kraft cardstock and then adhere the entire block to the front of the card using foam adhesive. Diecut the house shape from white cardstock, and then stamp the house design inside it. Cover in glitter and accent with three pearls. Adhere the entire house accent to the front of the card, tucked in slightly behind the bow.

Instructions: Fold aqua cardstock in half to make your card base. Trim the bingo card paper layer and adhere to the front. Round the right corners of a vellum block and adhere to the left side of the card. Adhere the decorative transparency to the front of the card, and add a sticker banner to the left side, overlapping it a bit. Adhere the rub-on people to white cardstock and cut out. Adhere them to the front of the card, and add a jeweled balloon sticker to the right side of them. Finish the sentiment with rub-ons underneath the "enjoy" part of the decorative transparency.

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope that you have been having a wonderful week so far! Today is the last day of JustRite Week at Stamper's Dream! It has been a fun week, with lots of wonderful JustRite samples being shared every day! I hope that you have taken the chance to check out what the entire Dream Team has created this week.
I used the January Viva la Verve sketch #1 as inspiration for this card. I am such a linear card maker, that the different sized blocks made me a little nervous...but I forced myself to do it and sketched it out beforehand. And you know what? I love how it turned out. Here is what I came up with:

Instructions: Punch an apron lace border to a cream cardstock block, and then fold in half to make card base. Trim a blue paper block to fit inside the card, ink & zig-zag stitch the edges, and then adhere to the front of the card. Trim 4 paper blocks to fit inside the blue paper block, getting smaller with each block. Ink & zig-zag stitch along the edges of each paper block, then adhere them inside the blue paper block. Wrap lace around the middle of the card, then tie ribbon over top of that. Tie a button around the bow using twine. Glitter the chipboard butterfly, and adhere to the right side of the card. Cut out the tag using the JustRite custom dies and a Cuttlebug machine. Stamp the sentiment to the tag, and accent with pearls. Adhere the sentiment tag to the butterfly, and accent with a brown paper flower.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope that the middle of the week finds you having a good one so far! I've been busy getting some card projects done, editing photos, and continuing to clean and purge my house of the things we don't use or need any longer. It is quite a task, but will be so awesome once I am finished.
This week has been JustRite week at Stamper's Dream...so for the next couple days you will see my cards featuring some of the latest JustRite product on it. Instructions: Fold cream cardstock in half to make card base. Trim blue patterned paper and adhere to the front. Cut a block of pink damask paper and a strip of yellow striped paper. Adhere a light blue scalloped paper frill to the bottom of the yellow striped paper, and adhere to the damask paper front. Tie ribbon around the left side, and adhere the entire block to the front of the card using foam adhesive. Cut a circle from cream cardstock, ink the edges, and adhere to the front. Stamp and heat emboss two flowers to pink damask paper, and cut out the necessary pieces. Glitter the flower that will be the bottom layer. Give the top layer petals some dimension, and adhere to the glittered bottom layer. Accent with pearls and adhere to the middle of the circle. Stamp the sentiment to a cream cardstock strip, ink the edges, and accent with pearls. Adhere the sentiment tag to the front, tucking the left side in behind the flower with dimension. Accent the middle of that flower with glitter Stickles.

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope this post finds everyone having a wonderful weekend and getting ready for a good week ahead. We went ice skating on Friday night...it was SO much fun! My birthday is this coming Friday, and I had really wanted to go skating. But, the rink isn't open to the public on my birthday because of a hockey tournament...so we decided to go this past weekend instead! And then on my actual birthday we are going to dinner with friends, and then having champagne cupcakes at our house afterward. And THEN the next weekend...we are heading to my parents' for a couple days, and they are taking us to dinner in Butte on the Friday we head over. So- I am getting THREE weekends of birthday celebration...so fun! I am such a lucky and loved girl...tee hee!

Instructions: Fold cream cardstock in half to make card base, and round the bottom corners. Round the bottom corners of a swiss dot tan cardstock block, and adhere to the front. Adhere a strip of lace trim to the front. Round the lower left corner of a gold dot paper block, and adhere to the front. Glitter a chipboard frame and adhere with the left side overlapping the existing elements on the card. Diecut the skates from white cardstock, and then stamp the image to them. Accent with jewels, and adhere to the top of the glittered frame. Tie a triple bow from twine, and adhere to the top of the frame. Accent the middle of the bow with a rhinestone button. Stamp the sentiment to a cream cardstock strip, and cut the edge to look like a flag. Adhere the strip around a gold topped pin, and adhere it to the front, slightly tucked in behind the skates.
Here are images of the sketch and the Tuesday Trigger photo....which is amazing, by the way. I was inspired by the colors and all the amazing texture on it!

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope this morning finds you all well and having a good week so far. Mine has been a week of cleaning, purging, throwing away junk, and boxing items for a garage sale this spring and then donation of whatever we don't sell. Right now....parts of my house are actually complete disasters, but I know that the end result is going to be fabulous! Before I get completely going on my post, I answered a little survey for Kelly, and it is up on the Lawn Fawn blog! I chuckled a little as I typed my post title this morning. For some reason, it made me think of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood and the song he sang..."Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you be my neighbor?" I loved that show when I was a kid. And to go even further into the inner workings of my mind...I chuckled even more when the circle of stamped "I love you's" made me think of the scene in Elf when Buddy first meets his dad and his dad thinks he is a singing telegram. "So I'm here now...and I love you, I love you, I LOVE YOU!!!!". Tee hee hee! Love that movie.
Anyways, obviously my post is not actually about Mr. Roger's Neighborhood or Elf. It is about a valentine's day card that I made for CPS Sketch 199! We were sponsored by The {Stamps} of Life this week, and I used both of their recent Valentine releases. Here is my card!

Instructions: Fold brown cardstock in half to make card base. Round the corners and sand the edges of a heart paper block, and adhere to the front. Cut a scalloped circle from striped paper at 3" using the Cricut Expression and Storybook cartridge. Sand the edges of it, and adhere to the front. Cut circles from cream cardstock at 2.5" and 1". On the larger one, stamp a circle of hearts and a circle of text, then adhere to the middle of the scalloped circle. Paint the chipboard wings and then cover in glitter. Stamp the bordered heart to the smaller heart, and adhere it to the top of the wings. Adhere the entire accent to the middle of the circle. Accent the top and the bottom of the larger circle with brown pearls. Stamp the sentiment to a cream cardstock block, and adhere to the lower right corner of the circles. Tie a bow from brown dotted ribbon, and adhere over top of where they meet. Accent the top of the bow with a brown and pink paper flower.

Thanks for the question, Christy & Kris! I am using a free reading plan from www.youversion.com. All you do is create a free account with them, and then sign up for the reading plan you want. They have apps for pretty much any phone as well, and that is how I am doing it...on my phone. They have multiple plans, and in the plans section, the third one down is called "Chronological". That is the one we are reading. I hope this helps, and if you start the plan...enjoy it! I know that in the short time I have been doing it, I have really enjoyed it.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope that your Monday was a great one....even considering it was kind-of a hangover Monday. You know- coming down from all the excitement of the past few weeks. I try to keep mine going, because in just a couple short weeks, it will be my birthday!!

I was very excited when she asked, and there are a lot of stamps to use that are right up my alley! And I have to say...all my CPS girls are making fun of me a little, because I used to be a self proclaimed non-stamper. It is all in good fun, and I think I deserve it a little. Tee hee! The stamping bug has definitely bitten me this past year, and I am loving it. I think it helped that I have VASTLY improved as well. You always like to do something even more when you are better at it.
I created a card to celebrate this fun announcement. I got my first shipment of product for Stamper's Dream, and it is some lovely JustRite product. Here is what I came up with!

Stamp and heat emboss the flower, cut out the necessary parts and layer together. Adhere the flower to the middle of a cardstock sticker, and then sand its edges. Cut a scalloped circle at 3" using the Cricut Expression and Storybook cartridge. Layer them together, and adhere to the front. Make a tulle bow, tie a button around the middle with twine, and adhere to the front. Stamp the sentiment to a strip of cardstock, and round the right corners. Tuck the sentiment tag slightly under the tulle bow. Accent the tag and the flower with pearls, and then accent the flower with Stickles.
How fun is that color combo? It isn't one I would usually think of, but when I pulled out all my Love Nest papers...they just seemed to call out to each other, beckoning. Hmmm...I think I might be letting you in a bit much on how my brain works while card making. Tee hee!
Josh and I have started a program, reading the Bible in chronological order in one year. And chronological isn't the order of the way your Bible looks now...although it seems fairly close right now. I think the New Testament is where it will get a little crazy. But yesterday's reading included God's covenant with Noah, and the promise he made through the rainbow. This beautiful part of scripture is the reason why I love rainbows so much, because I see such compassion from God and the feeling of hope. It makes me feel warm inside. I know that the Bible doesn't always make you feel warm and fuzzy...it isn't supposed to. But, I definitely felt that today.

Happy Monday, my friends! I hope that your venture into 2011 has been an awesome one so far! Josh had New Year's Day off from work {miracle} this year, so we actually went out with friends on New Year's Eve and rang in the new year. It was a lot of fun!
Well, I have some fun news to share with you today! I have been asked to be the January/February guest design team member for Taylored Expressions!! I was so excited when I first got the email from Taylor, and it initially happened to be for November/December...which just didn't work due to my trip to Kenya. Taylor was gracious enough to push my months back, and I have just been dying ever since. I love TE stamps...they are so fun and whimsical and just right up my alley. The announcement is up at the Taylored Expressions Blog as well, so be sure to check it out!
I did a card celebrating my announcement today with one of my favorite past Taylored Expression stamp sets. I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #98 from Karen Giron's blog as inspiration. Well, I have some fun news to share with you today! I have been asked to be the January/February guest design team member for Taylored Expressions!! I was so excited when I first got the email from Taylor, and it initially happened to be for November/December...which just didn't work due to my trip to Kenya. Taylor was gracious enough to push my months back, and I have just been dying ever since. I love TE stamps...they are so fun and whimsical and just right up my alley. I did a card celebrating my announcement today with one of my favorite past Taylored Expression stamp sets. I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #98 from Karen Giron's blog as inspiration. Cardstock: The Paper Company (cream) & Bazzill Basics (peach)
Cardstock: The Paper Company (cream) & Bazzill Basics (peach)
Paper: My Mind's Eye (So Sophie "Family Ties" consistent ledger, "Pure Bliss" true stripe, & "Birds of a Feather" reliable)
Stamps: Taylored Expressions (Sparkle & Cheer set)
Ink: Clearsnap (Chalk: ice jade, rose coral)
Letter Stickers: Making Memories
Pearls: Kaiser Craft
Puff Balls: Darice Inc.
Felt/Scalloped Die/Eyelet Lace Die: Papertrey Ink
Diecut Machines: Cricut Expression & Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Diecut Cartridge: Plantin Schoolbook (circles) & Winter Woodland (figure skater) by Provo Craft
Instructions: Fold cardstock in half to make card base. Diecut a scalloped edge to striped paper, and adhere to the left side of a pink dotted paper block. Adhere the entire block to the right side of the card. Diecut an eyelet lace border from felt, and adhere over top of the seam. Cut circles at 4.5" & 4.75" using the Cricut Expression and Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, and layer them together. Cut the figure skater and layers at 4.5" using the Winter Woodland cartridge. Layer the cuts together, and accent with pearls and puff balls. Adhere the figure skater to the left side of the circle cut. Stamp the top sentiment and snowflakes to the circle, and accent with pearls. Finish the sentiment with teeny alpha stickers in the bottom portion of the circle. Adhere the entire circle to the right side of the card, and trim the portion that hangs off the right edge. Accent the visible circles left in the felt border with pink pearls.
This stamp set is so elegant and pretty, and I felt like it fit the figure skater cut just perfectly! That cut is still one of my very favorites, and I love figuring out ways to use it {no pun intended}...tee hee! I also loved how well the non-themed MME papers went with a wintry New Year's themed card- I just love the colors!
Be on the look out at the end of this week, when I post a project for Taylored Expression's release day! I am pretty certain that I will be featuring something new! ;) Tee hee! Also, I have some more news to share...so be sure to stop back by tomorrow! ♥♥♥
