Pinkfresh Studio - Let's Party, USA!

July 4, 2018

Happy 4th of July, blog friends! I hope that my US friends are having an awesome holiday so far! It looks like ours is going to be rained out...a bit of a bummer, but I have SO much Pinkfresh work to do getting ready for our new release on Monday that I'm not going to worry about it!

Before I get to my card, I just wanted to mention a few sales that are ending today! It's a great time to shop and get some amazing savings! Just click on the banners below to take you to the stores!

I'm also going to let you know about a giveaway going on, but how about we get to my card first? I will have all the giveaway info at the bottom of this post {please note that it isn't on my blog, but I will give you the links you need!}. Today I created a 4th of July themed card using some really fun Pinkfresh Studio products! Check it out!

To start I cut an A2 card from heavyweight white cardstock and set aside. Then I cut two A2 blocks from the same cardstock, and proceeded to create the background on one of them in Candy Apple & Sapphire liquid watercolors. The background was super easy to create! I just taped the block of cardstock down (you could also use watercolor paper, but I wanted the bright white of the cardstock...plus I have found that the cardstock I use handles water very well.) to my self-healing mat, and gave the entire block a good water wash. Then I just added a drop of color in each corner....and let the water do the rest of the work. And that's it! I let it dry naturally, then spritzed it down with white shimmer spray and added white paint splatters to it. Easy peasy!

While the background dried, I started on the stamped top panel. First I cut it out using the Let's Celebrate coverplate. This creates the perfect matching background for all of the images in the Let's Celebrate stamp set! {This set is technically a birthday set, but it's super easy to customize. I used puffy alphas to do this, but you could easily use other stamps as well!} Then I put the diecut panel into my MISTI, and stamped all the coordinating images in onyx black Versafine ink. I also stamped the Let's Party portion of the sentiment to the lower right corner with a combination of Versafine, and Catherine Pooler Rockin' Red ink.

With the stamping complete, I loosely watercolored the stamped images with the same liquid watercolor that I used on the background. I completed the custom sentiment with Pinkfresh Studio Navy puffy alphas, then set the entire panel aside to dry.

With everything completely dry, I trimmed down the background slightly smaller than the card and mounted it to the top with foam adhesive. Then I adhered the stamped panel to the top of it with foam as well. I finished by adding some shimmer to the stamped images with my clear Wink of Stella pen, then accented here & there with my signature jewels! All products that I used (minus the red & blue jewels - those have been in my stash for awhile, and I believe I grabbed them from the $1 spot at Michael's) are linked below at either Pinkfresh Studio, Simon Says Stamp, or Ellen Hutson.

I took this photo in direct sunlight in hopes that you would be able to see all of the awesome shimmer on the card! Because...what is a 4th of July card without glitter?! :)

As I mentioned above, there is a giveaway going on! All you have to do is find my card on the Pinkfresh Studio Instagram feed, and follow the prompts! You will be entered to win the items below...which I happened to use on my card! Yay!! :)
The giveaway closes on Friday at 5pm CST, and the winner will be posted shortly after! So head on over & check it out!

Before you move along with your holiday plans, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) Plus, I just started a YouTube channel, and while there are only a few videos right now...I will be adding new content consistently!

Have a wonderful rest of your day, and enjoy the rest of your day!!
