Happy Saturday, crafty friends! Today I am part of the day 1 blog hop for the SSS Send Happiness release, which is full of amazing products! They've got a free gift with purchase, and this time around you've got your choice of an enamel pin while supplies last. Just be sure to use the correct code on the graphic below.
I will put all of the blog hop details at the end of my post, but how about we get to my card first? Today I've used the new Poppy Bouquet stencil with the Reverse Happy sentiment strips. I love when I get these in the mail! They help cards come together so quickly because all you have to do is trim them down.
I ink blended the poppy stencil with Distress Oxide inks in Candied Apple, Festive Berries and Twisted Citron. I carefully blended one flower at a time, using a few pieces of purple tape to mask off the stems as I went. Then I reversed that process for the green stems. I did blend a little bit of Detail Black hybrid ink to the centers of the poppies. Once the ink blending was complete, I diecut the panel with the largest Essentials: Stitched Rectangle. I added some white splatters with Amsterdam titanium white acrylic ink, then let them dry.
I mounted the ink blended panel to the front of an A2 black cardbase, then accented the poppy middles with iridescent black jewels from the Essentials: Jewels Mix. I trimmed the Happy Birthday sentiment into a very thin strip, then adhered it to the front with Darice foam strips to finish.
My card today is fairly simple and easy to create, but I think the poppies pack a punch! If you have any questions about this card, leave them in the comments and I will be sure to reply.
How about we get to all the fun blog hop info now?
