WPlus9 Preview: Fresh Cut Wreaths & More Fresh Cuts

November 30, 2013

Happy December 1st!!  My goodness...I can't believe that the end of the year is almost here!!  And I am SO excited to be getting back to my normal crafting routine....part of which is the WPlus9 preview at the beginning of every other month!!  For December we have some beautiful love & floral themed stamps/dies to share with you...I think you are going to just love them!!

Today we are previewing two stamp sets, & one companion die set.  Here is some info on each of them:

Fresh Cut Wreaths
  • is a 6x8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • 28 individual stamps: 15 wreath building images and 13 sentiments
  • will be available for purchase December 5th for $21
More Fresh Cuts
  • is a 4x6" clear photopolymer stamp set
  • 32 individual stamps: 31 image builders and 1 sentiment
  • will be available for purchase December 5th for $14
More Fresh Cuts Companion Die
  • contains 11 individual dies wired together that can be easy separated if desired
  • coordinates with the More Fresh Cuts stamp set
  • will be available for purchase December 5th for $9

I combined the stamps and dies with some beautiful Crate Paper & Prima Marketing rhinestones.  I also used Sketchbook Saturday #110 as inspiration for my design.  Here is what I created!!

Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from oatmeal cardstock.
2. Cut floral paper slightly smaller, then adhere a lined paper strip to the top.
3. Distress ink the edges, then adhere the entire block to the card front.
4. Diecut the doily from green paper, cut the top off & adhere to the bottom.
5. Add a strip of eyelet lace, then a strip of striped paper to the top of the doily.
6. Diecut a circle from oatmeal cardstock & distress ink the edges.
7. Stamp the wreath directly to it.
8. Diecut the flower & leaves, then stamp accordingly.
9. Adhere the stamped circle & flowers layers to the front using foam adhesive.
10. Accent them with a jewel swirl & pink jewels.
11. Add a sticker & finish the sentiment in the lower right corner.

Aren't those stamps sets just gorgeous!!  There are so many possibilities with these stamps & what you can build with them.  The other WPlus9 designers have projects to share as well, so be sure to check them all out!

Glitz Design November Blog Hop

November 28, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in America, & happy Thursday to everyone else!!  Today is not only the day that we are giving thanks, but also the Glitz Design blog hop!  As you all know....I JUST unpacked my stuff.  And with planning for our Thanksgiving menu, tending to a pup with an ulcer in his eye (poor thing)...I haven't had a chance to create something new this week.

So, I thought I would share my very favorite card using the Finnley collection.  I adore this card...I made it WAY in advance for my best friend Meagan who was pregnant at the time.  She has since had her sweet little girl, & she was born just in time for this card to still be relevant (considering I had stamped September to it.  lol!).
I made this card in July, & it is still one of my faves! And it now resides in sweet Emmalyn's room...I miss that sweet little girl!  She is going to be so big the next time I see her in person!

If I get the chance to create something new with Finnley tomorrow while my husband is at work in the evening....I will add it into my post!!

Here is the link list for our blog hop....both our traditional & digital team are part of the hop this month, so the list is quite long.  It will be worth our effort to hop along over the next few days though, because each designers has an amazing project to share with you!!

Paper Bakery "Holiday Charm" kit + WPlus9 "Silver Bells"

November 27, 2013

Hey there, everyone!!  Long time no blog....guess what?  My crafting stuff is FINALLY unpacked!!  My husband built my Scrapbox over the weekend, & I proceeded to unpack and arrange everything for the next few days!!  Seriously....I had no idea I had SO much stuff.  I got rid of a ton of it before leaving Montana, & now have more boxes of stuff to go into our next garage sale.  Sheesh!  I'm so glad it is all unpacked now, & I have access to everything!!  It's time to get crafty in this joint!!  Yay!

So, awhile back I was asked to be part of the Paper Bakery team to create cards using their new card kits....I had to wait until we were in Fargo & unpacked, but this month is my first month working with the kit!!  The kit this month is called "Holiday Charm", & it's got some fantastic Christmas paper from Teresa Collins & some fun little accents to give your cards lovey layers & dimension!!

I paired the card kit with my WPlus9 "Silver Bells" stamp set....which allowed me to add those cute little leaves & bells to the lower corner, & finished off my sentiment!  I also used the WPlus9 A2 Envelope Liner Die to add help decorate the envelope as well!  I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #198, & drew inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room #194 inspiration photo.  Here is my project!
Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from oatmeal cardstock.
2. Cut chevron paper slightly smaller.
3. Punch a half circle from the top of a vellum sheet, then stitch to the top of the chevron paper.
4. Adhere the paper block to the card front.
5. Layer the tags & diecuts to the left side, then accent with chipboard hearts & jewels.
6. Tie a double bow from yellow seam binding, then adhere to the to of the tag with a flair piece.
7. Stamp the sentiment to the lower right corner.
8. Stamp the bells & leaves to cardstock, cut out & layer together.
9. Adhere above the sentiment, then accent with a jewel.
10. Decorate the envelope as shown.

There you have it...my first creation as a Paper Bakery design team member!  I'm looking forward to creating so much more with these kits, & all of my other amazing supplies now that they are FINALLY unpacked.  You don't even know how excited I was as I started filling all the totes & baskets in my Scrapbox...it was like seeing an old friend for the first time in awhile. :)

That is all I have for you today!!  I hope you like my card/envelope today, & I would love to hear what you think of it!!  Or anything in general...how's life?  It's cold here....in the 4th coldest city in America.  Lol!  We are enjoying it though, & celebrating our first Thanksgiving alone.  Ever.  Crazy, huh?  We have our menu all ready though, we bought the tiniest little turkey, and are looking forward to spending the early part of the day together.  As many know, Best Buy is open on Thanksgiving at 6pm this year...& though Josh is no longer a store manager, as a salaried employee he is going to be there as part of an "all hands on deck" to make sure the night runs smoothly.

Am I upset, you might be asking?  Nope.  This blog post answers why more eloquently than I could.  I am extremely thankful for the company that my husband works for.  They have taken care of us for a VERY long time.  My husband makes a wage large enough that I don't have to work outside of the home.  We have amazing benefits, which I saw first hand this year when I had multiple doctor visits, ultrasounds, lots of lab work, a trip to the ER & surgery.  We get an amazing discount.  My list could go on & on....but I won't take up more of your time.  No matter how you feel about Best Buy...it has been part of why we live the life we have {plus Josh's hard work, of course!!}.  So, if they ask my husband to give an additional 5 hours on Thanksgiving to help out on the store level....so be it.  We will cook & eat our dinner together earlier, & I will start decorating for Christmas while he works.  It's just 5 hours in the grand scheme of things to me.

Until later,
~L.

A Moxie Fab "Thank You" blog Hop

November 9, 2013

Today is going to be a fabulous day!!  Not just because it is the weekend, and most of us have two whole days to craft, spend time with family & friends, watch football, eat great food, etc....but this Saturday is super extra special.  Today we are honoring our amazing friend, Cath Edvalson, for all the amazing work she has done for us as an editor of Paper Crafts Magazine & author of the Moxie Fab blog.  Cath coined the term "moxie fab" long ago, & it has been an ever present part of this crafting world of ours....and I am sure it will remain even as Cath departs from her position with Paper Crafts Mag.

And this isn't your average blog hop....this is the MOTHER of all blog hops.  Cath has reached so many crafters & manufacturers...that 285 of us are taking part in telling her THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts {yep- I'm yelling it.}

I still remember how happy my heart was when I saw my "Moxie Fabber of the Week" post {holy crap- that was almost THREE years ago} & read the thoughtful words that Cath had to say about me.  It truly warms my heart to this day, & it is my gentle reminder that I need to get back to this community of mine.  This summer & fall has taken its toll on me...I haven't had the time to be as much of a presence in this industry as I once was. I am looking forward to getting fully settled into my new home & back to being an active part of my crafty community again.

I have been lucky enough to have my cards occasionally featured on the Moxie Fab blog, & I've won a couple contests here & there.....and I will truly miss what Cath shared with us each & every day on the Moxie Fab blog.  So, with that being said....here is my card for Cath.  Made specifically & just for her! :)
This card is pretty much all product from the Dear Lizzy "Polka Dot Party" collection....it was just perfect to create a custom crafty card just for Cath!

Once again....THANK YOU Cath for all you have done in this industry.  Thank you for all the inspiration.  Thank you for what Moxie Fab has become to ALL of us.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness & encouragement.  Thank you for the blog comments!  And thank you for just being the amazing person you are!

Since this is the mother of all blog hops, here is some information for you in case you weren't aware of it, or if you've gotten lost along the way.

You should have come to my blog from the Glitz Design blog.

You will now hop on to Heather Nichol's blog.

And there is a complete list of ALL blogs at the Moxie Fab blog.

Alright...I think you've got all the details, and I really hope you just have a wonderful time seeing all the amazing creations today!

Until later,
~L.
