Holy cow...Christmas is two days away!! {I still have to wrap Josh's presents...time to get down to business tonight!!!!} I just wanted to share my cards using the Paper Bakery "Holiday Charm" card kit from November. This is my first kit as a new designer, & you will see more in the future from me with these kits!!
My Christmas crafting is coming to an end, & here is what I have found to be some of my favorite trends this year:
1. Most of my handmade items had a pop of gold somewhere- whether it be via sequins, ribbon, washi tape, rub-ons, etc.
2. I used vellum to create dimension, add layers, & tame colors.
3. I used wood veneer stars on almost EVERYTHING {which reminds me that I need to order some more}.
4. A little bit of doily here & there (or the entire thing) graced many Christmas cards this time around.
What about you? What did you find yourself adding to your handmade projects this year? I would love to hear what your favorite trends were for the 2013 holidays!

{Oh look- another pop of gold, sequins, & a vellum pocket. Funny.}
For these cards I have used papers that have a lot of text on them, which can sometimes
be daunting. But by adding a deep angle or a nice tilt to them, it
tones them down & makes the papers more of a compliment to the card
rather than taking it over. I’ve also added rounded corners to each
card to help soften the card designs since they do have these angles
& tilts! Check them out!
That is all for now...I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas time...surrounded by love & blessings.
Until later,
~L.
Hey there, everyone!! Well...you've made it to group post day of the WPlus9 December/January release!! This means that all of the new stamps & dies are available at www.wplus9.com, so you should head on over to pick up your must haves!! Stick them in your stocking if you have to consider them a Christmas gift. **wink**
It also means that we have a group post where everyone creates one more project to be featured together on the WPlus9 blog. This is my FAVE day of the release week, because I love seeing how different all the designs are while using the same product!
I combined the Coming Up Roses stamp & die set with many of the past Christmas stamp sets from the last release (a full supply list will be below) & created a card full of layers, flowers, & Christmas trim. I really love how it turned out, & I hope that you do too! I used the Mojo Monday #322 sketch as a starting point for my design, & then went on from there. Check it out!
Instructions:
1. Make A2 card from cupid's bow cardstock.
2. Cut background paper slightly smaller, distress ink the edges & adhere.
3. Wrap cream eyelet lace around the bottom, then top with brown circle trim.
4. Diecut the tag, wreath, flowers, leaves, pinecones & candle from oatmeal cardstock, then distress ink all the edges.
5. Diecut the candle holder from vellum & distress ink the edges.
6. Stamp the wreath in green, then stamp the berries with versamark.
7. Cover with red glitter embossing powder, then heat set.
8. Stamp the roses, pine boughs, leaves & pinecones as shown.
9. Stamp the candle, adhere it to the vellum candle holder, then stamp the circle & flame to it.
10. Add all the layers to the middle of the card using hot glue & foam adhesive.
11. Tie a bow from red ribbon, stitch a button to the middle of it & adhere to the middle of the lace.
12. Stamp the sentiment to the tag, then tuck it underneath the button with hot glue.
13. Accent with pearl flourishes to finish.
Be sure to check out what the other WPlus9 designers have created as well! They will all be featured on the WPlus9 blog, or you can check them out on their personal blogs as well!

Hey there, everyone!! Welcome to day 3 of the December/January WPlus9 release week! Today we are featuring a new stamp & die set called "Coming Up Roses". Here is a little more info on it:
Coming Up Roses
I have gone clean & simple for my cards today, and kept the focus on the beautiful flowers you can create with this stamp set. Here is what I created!
Instructions:
1. Make an A2 card from oatmeal cardstock, then round the bottom corners.
2. Distress ink the edges of the card.
3. Diecut the vase from vellum & the flower from oatmeal cardstock, then distress ink the edges.
4. Stamp the flower & vase, then adhere to the left side of the card.
5. Stamp the smaller flower images coming from the top of the vased flower, then accent with sequins.
6. Wrap twine around the middle, then top the vase with a double bow & twine threaded button.
7. Stamp the sentiment below the twine to finish.
Here is another card with the same design....just flip flopped, & using different colors & flower!
I did create these with the current CAS-ual Fridays #121 challenge to use 8 of something. Both cards have 8 sequins on them. I think they were the perfect accent, don't you?!
How beautiful of these flowers that you can create with this stamp set? I just love it!! I can't wait to try it more in different colors & shades! Be sure to check out what the rest of the WPlus9 designers have created for today!
