Pinkfresh Studio March Inspiration Challenge

March 11, 2018

Happy Sunday, blog friends! I hope that you've had an amazing weekend!  I've got a couple cards to share with you today using some new Pinkfresh Studio stamps! We've started a new monthly challenge this month, and it is a beautiful Spring color palette. It works perfectly with many of the new scrapbooking collections we've recently released, plus many of our newest stamps & dies!

The challenge is open to all paper crafters, including scrapbookers & cardmakers. The only rules are to use the color inspiration & at least one Pinkfresh Studio product - old & new! If you don't have any Pinkfresh Studio products, I suggest picking up some of our newest stamps & dies, or take a look at the deeply discounted Sale items!

What's a challenge without a prize? Two randomly picked projects will receive a $25 gift certificate to Pinkfresh Studio! You have until March 31st to enter our March challenge - I can't wait to see what you create!

Alright - now on to my cards! I used the new Always Flowers stamp set, which is SO gorgeous! It has beautifully illustrated florals & lovely sentiments to go along with them. I just adore this stamp set!

To start, I cut & folded two A2 cards from dark & light pink cardstock. I cut white heavyweight cardstock slightly smaller, then stamped the floral images to the fronts using onyx black Versafine ink. I used my MISTI to stamp the florals, just in case I didn't get a crisp impression the first time!

Then I proceeded to watercolor the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and a #2 sized watercolor brush. I purposely chose to not use watercolor paper, as I wasn't using a ton of water on the stamped images and I wanted the water to soak in quickly. I also added a few brush strokes of gold shimmer watercolor to the middle of the corner stamped block.

Once I was done with the watercolor & the painting was dry, I added shimmer to each stamped heart icon with my clear Wink of Stella pen, then proceeded to flick black paint splatters to each stamped block.

I set aside the stamped blocks to finish drying, and proceeded to work on the sentiments for each card. For the first card, I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment to black cardstock, then cut banner edges to each end.

For the second card, I diecut two Die-namics Stitched Tag-Corner Square STAX from black & white heavyweight cardstock. I stamped the sentiment to the white STAX, and then adhered it to the black layer with foam adhesive.

Then it was time to assemble the cards! I adhered the stamped & watercolored blocks to each card front using foam adhesive.

Then I adhered the sentiment layers over top of gold thread knots with foam adhesive.

To finish, I accented both cards with my signature jewels tucked here & there!

Well, those are the cards I have to share with you today! I hope that you like them, and will consider joining in on the fun at Pinkfresh Studio this month! We can't wait to see what you create!
