WCMD "Favorite Technique" Challenge with Pinkfresh Studio

All of the products that I've used on this card are eligible for the sale! And the favorite technique that I'm sharing is how I love to use my Zig watercolor markers just like you would an alcohol marker. They blend easily, and I rarely feel the need to use water unless I really need to lighten a color.

I colored these blooms on a plane ride home from Phoenix, as I had forgotten earbuds. Honestly, it was so calming & therapeutic, I will be bringing projects like this on planes with me from now on. It also draws some attention...lol! One of the flight attendants looked at my box of Zig markers, and mentioned how fancy they were. (Lol - I didn't realize Zig markers were fancy...apparently he's never seen a Copic marker...bahaha!). Then as the flight was descending and we were packing our stuff away, the man sitting next to me said how much he enjoyed watching me color the flowers throughout the flight.

I've used the Floral Elements stamp set and coordinating dies, which are companions to the Painted Florals washi tape. I hadn't used the stamps alone yet, and I really love how they look by themselves. I'm really proud of the washi/stamp/die combos that we've come up with...it is such an innovative concept, and really give crafters a ton of versatility.

HOW TO CREATE:
1. Stamp the flowers in onyx black Versafine to Strathmore Bristol paper.
2. Color the flowers in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.
3. Cut the flowers out with the coordinating dies.
4. Diecut Circle Frame with Botanicals 3 times: once from gold glitter paper and twice from white cardstock. Stack & adhere the layers (I use a Zig glue pen for this).
5. Diecut the "New Thoughts" 12x12 paper with the largest Stitched Rectangle die, then adhere to a white A2 card base with a full panel of foam adhesive.
6. Cut the Beautiful word die 3 times: once from the 6x6 "New Thoughts" paper and twice from white cardstock. Stack and adhere the layers.
7. Put the circle frame with one layer of the white insides into a MISTI. Using the word die, place the Hello stamp, then stamp in onyx black Versafine. (This sentiment stamp is from the Delicate Wreath set.)
8. Adhere the entire circle frame to the front of the card.
9. Arrange the flowers & Beautiful word, then adhere, popping the smaller florals up with foam dots.
10. Add some sparkle with a Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen, then accent the card with our Essentials: Jewels Mix in dark pink, gold & white to finish.

Once a month or so, I do a little explanation on my DIY full panels of foam adhesive. I've been doing this for years, and keep refining the process and making it easier. It is one of the most cost effective ways I've found, and you only need 2-3 supplies.

• White fun foam
• 5" Scor Tape (you can also use 2.5")
• Mixed Media liquid adhesive (optional)

You can get the foam at SSS, or at any major craft store - just look in the children's section. I trim the foam down into 3.75 x 5 inch panels. You will typically be left with a one strip of foam that is too small for a full panel, and I just set that aside and use on smaller pieces when needed.

I've recently started using the 5" Scor Tape, and adding it to one side of the foam panel - this is the side that I stick to the top panel, not the card base. Then I use liquid adhesive on the side that will stick to the card. I started doing this because when I was using Scor Tape on both sides, sometimes I wouldn't stick it down completely straight...and there is NO grace. Once it's stuck...it's stuck. So using the liquid adhesive gives me time to make sure the panel is straight, and then I sandwich it between two clean cutting plates while the glue sets. It doesn't take too long, and then my card panel is completely straight! If you are really good at making sure your panel is lined up perfectly with your card base, then you could also just use Scor Tape on the back.
