Heavenly Scene Building with Alexandra Renke papers

February 2, 2020

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! How about we get back to some regularly scheduled crafting around here?! January is always ridiculously busy with Creativation, and all the prep...then recovery...then catch up. Lol!  It should be less quiet in my little crafty corner of the internet now that I am home, and caught up for the most part.

Today I wanted to share a set of baby cards with some new baby products from Alexandra Renke. These papers are so whimsical and sweet, I might have squealed a little when I saw them! Along with Pinkfresh, Alexandra's papers are one of my favorites in the industry. They are completely different from anything that is out there, and I just love all the designs.

All the papers that I've used are linked below to Alexandra's shop in Germany, as I wasn't able to source them here in the US. I did see that Simon Says Stamp as the 6x6 version, but because I used the 12x12, they might not be completely compatible (in terms of making the same exact cards as shown).

The fussy cut elements are all from the adorable "Baby Elephant in Heaven" paper, which pretty much just captured my heart. And made me think of Ellie & Layton. That might be another reason why I love Alexandra's papers so much - I find myself wondering about what my little ones are doing up in Heaven as I create, and it is a really lovely thought to think of them perfectly healthy, beautiful and together. Both backgrounds were cut from the "Baby Sleeping Moon" paper.

The slimline card features the new Baby word die, which is a gorgeous scripted font. I cut it from this really lovely Martha Stewart branded glitter paper at Michael's that I found this past December. It is in the section of single sheets, and is a really soft gold, with flecks of champagne in it. I need to go back and buy every single piece so I never run out. Lol! I also cut it a few times from the matching Alexandra Renke cardstock, then stacked & adhered them together for some dimension & sturdiness.

The 5x7 card features the Little Angel die, which is in the Last Chance category of Alexandra's shop. So, I'm not sure how much longer it will be available. It's such a sweet word die, that I had to get at least one more use out of it! I finished the sentiment by stamping the word <welcome> in Smokey Gray Versafine from the Placed In Brackets stamp set.

After assembling the cards as shown, I accented with the Essentials: Jewels Mix in yellow and white.

Another thing I love about Alexandra's papers is that they challenge me to make different sized cards, other than A2. I'm always trying to find ways to show off her papers more, and keep elements that might otherwise get cut off. I'm finding that slimlines are really fantastic, and I love this larger 5x7 card today! If you have any questions about my projects at all today, please leave them in the comments and I will be sure to reply.
Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I would love to be crafty friends online!

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday.
