Happy Wednesday, friends! Welcome to day 3 of my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Card Series on my blog this week. I am severely under the weather right now, but thankfully I already had all these cards created & photographed...so it's not too much to sit & write up a blog post. I am super thankful for that! I have a wedding show this weekend, so if you are the praying type....I would love if you could send some up for me that I will be feeling & sounding better by then.
As I mentioned in the previous days, I have one HUGE giveaway for the entire week. So, I will be giving you that info each day!
GIVEAWAY
This is over $300 in Pinkfresh Studio goodies - some that have been gently used, but all of it in perfect condition. I am currently in the middle of overhauling my crafting area to make it more efficient. By choice we live in a small home, thus my crafting area isn't huge either. This change in my area is actually going to give me less storage, but more efficiency - which is NEEDED. With that being said, all of the items above have retired from Pinkfresh Studio. And while they are still amazing products, my schedule does not allow for creating with items that are retired. So my busyness is your gain...lol!
How to win? All you
have to do is leave a comment on my posts! Make sure you stop by each
day this week after noon CST (that is when the posts will go live), and
you will have more chances to win! Here are the links for previous days:
You can gain one extra entry by following me on Instagram, and/or subscribing to my YouTube channel. Leave one comment if you do either, or both. Please - only ONE extra comment. I will post the winner on my GIVEAWAY PAGE on Sunday, November 11th by 2pm CST.
This giveaway is open to all, BUT...if you are international I will ask that you pay for the additional shipping charges required. I will be sending this entire shipment in a flat rate Priority Mail box, and I am willing to pay what the shipping charge is in the US. By commenting as an Int'l friend, you are telling me that you are willing to pay for the extra shipping via PayPal. Thank you for understanding - Int'l shipping is very expensive, but I still wanted to keep this giveaway open to all. This is the only way I can make that happen.
You might be asking - why not spread the wealth each day? Well, friends...shipping is expensive, even within the US. Plus my schedule is super busy, and it is just easier for me to pick one winner for it all. Feel free to share the love if you are the winner!
So how about we get to my card for today? I am using the Geo Floral Background die that I featured yesterday, combined with the Magical Christmas stamp set & coordinating dies. To start I created a stencil from the Geo Floral background. I have some plastic sheets that I purchased off Amazon for creating your own stencils, but you can really use anything, including cardstock. (You just might have to be a little more cautious when blending if you chose to use cardstock.) I taped a panel of white cardstock & the stencil to a craft mat, and blended in the background using Ranger Distress Oxide inks in Worn Lipstick & Tattered Rose, along with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.

I let that sit a moment, then moved the stencil slightly. I added some Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone to the front with a palette knife. It sets up really quickly, so within minutes I was able to pull the stencil off. Then I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment to the lower left corner with pearl gold sparkle embossing powder. I added some gold paint splatters, & let them dry. With the background finished, I mounted it to an A2 card made from cashmere cardstock using foam adhesive.
I diecut the unicorn, then taped it back into the negative space with some washi on the back. I put it into my MISTI, then stamped the unicorn, presents & greenery. The reason why I diecut the unicorn first is that it has multiple layers for stamping, and this makes it easier to make sure it all lines up correctly. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the presents, then fussy cut the greenery.
I used the oxide inks & Zig Starry Colors paint to color in the horses mane & hooves. I just used a small brush & a little bit of water for the oxide inks. There wasn't a whole lot of precision to it, nor shading. I just wanted her to match the background! With everything colored & diecut, I adhered the unicorn & presents to the front with foam dots. Then I added the greenery in, and accented with some small pearls I've had in my stash for awhile now.
That is what I have for you today! You can shop for all of the Pinkfresh Studio Holidays Stamps & Dies here! I read a comment somewhere that our Christmas Unicorn should take over the duties of Rudolph this year....it made me laugh, and I have to say....I totally agree! Be sure to check back tomorrow at noon CST for day 4 of my Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards series! Have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteMove over Rudolph, the unicorn is here! Your unicorn card is so pretty. I love the soft colors with the gold.
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I totally understand the unicorns equating to Christmas trend (because I'm 1000 years old) but that doesn't stop me from loving this card. I appreciate how you kept the color palette really limited which let you add just texture upon texture without making the card feel chaotic. It feels magical! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI follow on instagram and youtube.
ReplyDeleteLove how you did the background on this card. And again these soft colours with the sparkle.. stunning!!

Saying a prayer for you to feel better for your wedding duties this weekend, it sucks to be sick when you have so much to do. (mardy14@bellsouth.net)
