The code will expire on Sunday, 6/24 at 11:59pm.
This is day 2 of the Good Vibes Release Blog Hop, and we've got quite the lineup for you! I will put all of the blog hop details at the end of my post, but how about we get to my cards first? It is finally officially summer, and these new products just scream summer, vacation & fun! What I love about them is they also capture my heart with missing you sentiments, as I am always missing my family all the way over in Montana. That is what I focused on with my cards today!
I used the following new release items for my cards today: Jazz Dance stencil, Vacation Time clear stamps, & Miss You Block die. I've created a simple version, and then a more messy/mixed media version as well!
I started out by making the clean & simpler one first. To start, I cut an A2 card from pink cardstock and set aside. Then I cut a white cardstock block slightly smaller. I taped them down to a craft mat, then proceeded to ink blend in a rainbow gradient using my Distress Oxide inks in the following colors: Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon & Wilted Violet. (All supplies are linked at the bottom of this post for your shopping convenience.)
Next I flicked a small amount of gold paint splatters to the front using my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors paint set. Once they were dry, I mounted the block to the pink card base using foam adhesive. Then I proceeded to diecut the Miss You Block three times from white cardstock and adhered them together with my Zig glue pen. I layered it over top of a piece of gold glittered paper, then adhered to the bottom of the card with foam dots.
Then I stamped the next part of the sentiment to white cardstock, and trimmed it into a thin strip. I added a few strips of very thinly cut foam tape to the back of it, then popped it up underneath the Miss You diecut. To finish, I accented the card with my signature jewels tucked here & there!
The second card is super similar - it uses all the same products but with a more messy feel to it. To start, I cut an A2 card from white cardstock and set aside. Then I cut a white cardstock block slightly smaller. This time, I ink blended the entire background in a rainbow gradient. Then I taped them down to a craft mat & spritzed it with a water bottle. I picked up the water with a paper towel as quickly as I could, but water still seeped under the edges a bit. This made the rings a bit more abstract, but I just went with it! Then I proceeded to spray the background down with some white shimmer spray, then flick gold & white paint splatters. You will notice that my paint splatters are messier on this background than on the first one. That is because this paper was a bit wet...so the splatters lost their roundness when they made contact with the damp background.
Once the background was dry, I mounted it to the white card base using foam adhesive. Then I proceeded to diecut the Miss You block from black cardstock three times, and layered together. This time, I adhered it to the upper right corner using mixed media ink, instead of foam dots.
I decided I wanted to add the smaller stamped sentiment to it, so I put the entire card in my MISTI (pulling out the black foam first) & then stamped it directly to the card front in onyx black Versafine. I love that the MISTI makes last minute decisions super easy because you don't have to worry that you might screw up an almost finished card. Then finally, I accented it with my signature iridescent jewels.
Those are my rainbow missing you cards for today! I hope that you enjoyed seeing these new products in use, and that you look forward to using them as well!
How about we get to all the fun blog hop info now?!
