SugarPea Designs - Summer Release - Day 1

June 11, 2018

Hi there, blog friends! Welcome to day 1 of the SugarPea Designs Summer Sweet Peek Week! We've got a ton of amazing new products to share with you, plus lots of inspiring projects!

All of the new stamps & dies will be available for purchase in the SugarPea Designs shop on Friday evening! Be sure to get all the details you need on the SugarPea Designs blog.

Today we are featuring the new Llama Just Say stamp set, and coordinating SugarCut dies. This set is SO adorable, and you are going to just love all the fun & punny sentiments. I made a little sunset scene for my card today, and it turned out so cute! I just love all the pops of color!

To start, I created an A2 card from heavyweight white cardstock, then set it aside. Next I cut a white cardstock block slightly smaller, and blended the inks in a gradient from dark to light. I used Tim Holtz distress oxide inks in the following colors: Blueprint Sketch,  Seedless Preserves, Abandoned Coral & Spiced Marmalade {all will be linked at the end of the post}. Then I spritzed it with water, & picked it up with a paper towel to reveal the reaction. I spritzed it down with shimmer spray, and then finally added paint splatters to the front in both white & gold. Then I set the entire block aside to fully dry.

Next I stamped the llama, blanket & cacti to white cardstock in onyx black Versafine ink. I hit them with my heat tool just to make sure the ink was set, then proceeded to color them in with my Zig Clean Color Real Markers. I added the gold accenting with my Gansai Tambi starry colors paints. Once they were dry, I added some shimmer to them with my Wink of Stella glitter pen & then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I adhered the blanket to the llama, then set them all aside.

Next I diecut the hill from black cardstock using the Card Front Element Builder dies, and adhered it to the bottom of the ink blended panel. Then I diecut that entire panel using the Postage Stamp coverplate. I felt like the hill needed some shimmer to match the rest of the card, so I ran my Wink of Stella glitter pen over it a couple times. Then I adhered the cacti & llama to the hilltop using foam tape.

Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment in white to a black cardstock strip, then trimmed a banner edge to the left side of it. I adhered it to the upper right corner, and accented with my signature jewels tucked here & there.

I just love all the shimmer that the Wink of Stella added to the card, and I always try to get a good photograph of it. This was the best I could get with the available light I had today!

That is my cute little llama card today! I hope that you liked it! Now let's get to the rest of the information you need. First up, here is the link list for the blog hop:
