Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolor Blog Hop

June 4, 2018

Happy Monday, blog friends! Today is an especially happy day, as we are revealing a brand new product at Pinkfresh Studio! We have been working tirelessly on these for months, perfecting the color formulas & finding a beautiful way to package and present them to all of our amazing Pinkfresh Studio fans and friends. We are SO excited that we can finally share them with you! {On a personal note - it is a very cool, but strange thing to be on this side of the business. It feels like we have had these watercolors for months upon months...because there has been so much work on them behind the scenes!}

We've given you the full rainbow of colors, plus black & brown to make scene creating a breeze! These are highly pigmented and vivid, but can easily be softened & lightened with just a bit of water. They come in a gorgeous glass container with a child proof dropper - we wanted to make sure they would be pretty sitting in your craft room! ;)

PURCHASING
All of the liquid watercolors are available for purchase today! You can purchase individual colors for $6.00 ea. + shipping. Or you can opt for the full collection, and use the code WATERCOLOR10 to get 10% off upon checkout.  They will start shipping between June 20-25th. Here is a link list for your shopping convenience!

As the post header states, this is a blog hop! I will have all of the giveaway & links listed below, but how about we get to my card first? I'm SO excited about how this card turned out, and can't wait to share the process with you!

I will preface by saying that this card didn't come together in mere minutes, but was more of a process. I would do a few things, then come back to it later & continue. But it was WORTH the time, because I just love how it turned out.

The first step was to stamp & heat emboss all the flowers & greenery multiple times to white cardstock using the Fleur 2 stamp set. On my first block of white cardstock I stamped every floral & greenery image in the set. On my second block, I re-stamped the flowers that I wanted to feature a bit more...this was mostly the hydrangea looking blooms, but I included a few of the other as well.

Once they were all stamped & heat embossed, I proceeded to watercolor them. I started out by coloring all the greenery. I mostly used Key Lime on them, but added a dash of Emerald City here & there, subduing it a bit by just adding water. Then I colored all the blooms using the rainbow of colors, mixing a little bit within their gradient. Once I was finished, I let them dry completely in room air because I liked the coloring I had achieved and didn't want to disturb it with my heat tool.

Once they were fully dry, I proceeded to diecut them all with the Fleur 2 coordinating dies. I made sure to space the images properly when stamping so that I could diecut as many as possible at one time. Pinkfresh Studio dies are AMAZING quality, and I NEVER have a problem doing multiple cuts like this with them. In fact, the first block that had every single image from the set stamped to it was also diecut in one run through my Cuttlebug. I swear by Pinkfresh dies....they are fantastic!

After diecutting all the blooms {and using them in the promotional photos}, it was time to start putting my card together. I quickly realized that a standard A2 card size was not going to allow me to do what I wanted with all these blooms. So, I decided to switch to a long & skinny black cardbase that still fits in a standard financial envelope, which are readily available for purchase anywhere that offers office supply.

I cut a block of white cardstock slightly smaller than the cardbase and mounted it to the front with foam adhesive. Then I proceeded to adhere the flowers & greenery to it in a rainbow gradient. There isn't a real technical way to do this - I  layered with a mixed media glue so that I would have time to tuck things in here & there before it completely hardened. In the end, I used almost all of flowers & greenery, leaving off only about 5-6 of them. I adore how this turned out, but you could use fewer for a more simple look.

I stamped the first part of the sentiment to the upper left corner of the card using my MISTI and the Word Series: Happy stamp set. Then I flicked the entire front of the card with both white & black paint splatters. While that was drying, I stamped & heat embossed the word Happy to vellum using detail black embossing powder. Then I diecut it using the coordinating Happy word die.

Finally, I adhered it underneath the first part of the sentiment using very thin strips of foam tape. And lastly, I accented the card with my signature jewels tucked here & there!

That is my cute rainbow card showcasing these brand new liquid watercolors from Pinkfresh Studio! They are SO fun to work with, and I think you will really love them! The highly pigmented colors mean a little bit goes a long way....I used just one small drop of each color watercolor all of these blooms. I think that is pretty amazing! With that being said, how about I get to the rest of the blog hop info for you!
