Pinkfresh Studio Christmas Inspiration

November 30, 2019

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I wanted to drop in and share the Christmas counterparts to the cards I posted yesterday! Once again, all of the items I've used today are eligible for the Black Friday - Cyber Monday sale going on at Pinkfresh Studio.

And while the code is not valid on the Doorbusters, we did decide to keep them active. You can go ahead and put items from both categories into your cart, and when you enter the code upon checkout - it will discount the eligible items. There are still quite a few amazing items in the Doorbuster category, so be sure to check it out!

One of my favorite paper collections that released this year was Just A Little Lovely, and I wanted to create some non-traditional Christmas cards with the 6x6 paper pad. So that is just what I did with this cute set of cards today.

This card is my very favorite of all three. I've used the Geo Floral background die, which is such an intricate and gorgeous die! The sentiment is from the Squirrel Friends stamp set. What I love about this stamp set is that it has the adorable squirrels in it, but there are so many fantastic sentiments that you can use without them.

The sentiment was cut and layered with the Essentials: Fancy Label Frames. Then I tucked diecut pieces from the Painted Florals washi tape, another favorite release of mine this year. We made A2 sized washi tape more versatile by designing stamps & dies to coordinate with it!

This card features the cutie Magical Christmas stamp & die set, which has the sweetest unicorn! I created a stencil from the Geo Floral die used above, and added some glimmer paste to the front of this card using it.

I accented this card with another one of my VERY favorite things we released this year - our Essentials: Jewels Mix. I use these on almost every single card I create, and I still haven't made a dent in the package. It's a great price for all the amazing jewels that you receive.

This final card uses a really beautiful die set called Leafy Wreaths. What I love about this set is the versatility we added into it - plus the partial cut leaves so you can add some subtle dimension to your card. I've created the background with our liquid watercolor, mixing and using the following colors: Bubblegum, Lavender, Aquamarine & Sky Blue (all linked individually below).

The sentiment is from our Great Joy stamp set, and then I've added the bow from our Partial Cut Bouquet and a Bow die set. I use this set SO often - the bow is just the perfect size and shape.

You can get every single Pinkfresh items I've used today at 25% off! I would love for you to shop through my affiliate links if I've inspired you to grab any of these beautiful products!

That is everything I have for you today! If you have any questions about my card, feel free to leave them in the comments and I will be sure to reply.

Today I have a couple of cards to share using my very favorite items that we released at Pinkfresh Studio this year. I will give a little breakdown of each item below!

This first card features one of my very favorite stamps released this year. It is the Make A Wish stamp set, with coordinating dies as well. I LOVE the layered cake in this set, and it has SO many options. You can also personalize this with the number candles, which is a pretty awesome feature!

Another favorite release from this year is our Essentials release. This is a collection of basic dies & jewel sets that you will reach for every single time you create! Well, I do anyways. Lol! We have put a Pinkfresh spin on them, making them unique, affordable and an amazing addition to your crafting studio.

Another favorite of mine from this year was our washi tape release. In true Pinkfresh fashion, we made washi tape even more versatile by also offering coordinating stamps & dies

My favorite from the release is the Painted Florals washi. It matches perfectly with my very favorite paper collection that we released this year, Just A Little Lovely. I've used the 6x6 paper pad on these cards, and the best part about them is the are very watercolor oriented. So it looks like you spent hours creating the backgrounds, when all I did was diecut them with an Essentials die.

Pinkfresh released a ton of things this year that I am so proud of, but these cards represent my very favorites. And you can get them all today at 25% off! I would love for you to shop through my affiliate links if I've inspired you to grab any of these beautiful products!

Thanksgiving with a Grateful Heart

November 28, 2019

Happy Thanksgiving, crafty friends! I hope this morning finds you well, and if you happen to be in or from the USA and are celebrating the holiday...I hope you are having a good start so far. Holidays aren't the easiest thing for me anymore, so we keep it quiet. We will have a small Thanksgiving dinner with just the two of us and our pups. Maybe one day I will embrace the loud family dinners with an excessive amount of food again...but for now I need the laid back calm that we've created for ourselves.

Being grateful isn't easy when you have two empty seats at your Thanksgiving table. I'm well aware of the gaping holes in my heart on a daily basis, but on the day that is supposed to be all about gratitude...I feel it even more. A grateful heart looks different for me after Ellie & Layton. I'm grateful that they graced me with their presence, even though it was for merely a moment. I'm grateful that I believe with every fiber of my being that I will see them again on the other side of Heaven's veil. I'm grateful for a husband who walks this journey with me, and understands that we grieve together, but we grieve differently. And I'm grateful for a family that doesn't push me or guilt me into thinking I have to do holidays differently.

I created these cards for my little ones...if only I could send them to Heaven. I hope they can feel how much love I am sending them today and every day, and how grateful I am for the tiny amount of time that I had them here with me.

This card was inspired by Layton - my adorable baby boy who was the spitting image of his daddy. This card features darker color tones, angular lines and a clean design.

This card, of course, was inspired by my teeny, tiny Ellie. She was delicately and perfectly formed with the cutest rosebud lips and the sweetest little nose. She even had the start of strawberry blonde hair & curls...

Creating cards for my little ones has become part of my grieving process. It helps me continue to process through the vastness of this loss, and lets me continue to keep their memory alive.

That is everything I have to share with you today. I hope that you enjoyed my Thanksigiving cards, inspired by my sweet babies in Heaven.
I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day, and if you are going out to brave the Black Friday shopping...I am sending you vibes of patience. Lol!

This post is not about sales & affiliate commissions by any means, but I did want to let you know that the gold puffy stickers that I've used on both cards are DEEPLY discounted for the Pinkfresh Studio Doorbuster Sale. If you like to use scrapbooking products on your cards at all, or if you are a memorykeeper as well...be sure to check out the sale. There are so many quality products marked down for next to nothing. Okay - taking my marketing director hat back off. ;)

Fun Technique: Stamping on Flocked Paper

November 27, 2019

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! I hope you are having a good week so far! I just wanted to pop in and share a just because card I finished recently. It's perfect timing because we just got our first real snow, and I'm not mad about it. Lol! Snow is magical (unless it falls in April) and the first one is always the best.

Each month we have a craft night here in Minneapolis, but twice per year we have a craft day. This is a full day of hanging out, snacking and getting our craft on. Sue from Therm O Web came over from Chicago for it, and she hosted a demo where we got to do some different things with their flocked papers. One thing that I was super in awe of was the fact that we stamped the Outline Snowflakes background stamp on to white flocked paper with pigment ink!! I knew I had to create a card with mine as soon as I had a moment, and that time has finally come!

I used the November Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders called Kaleidoscope Snowflake, and a sentiment from the Squirrel Friends stamp set by Pinkfresh. I also used three layers from the Basic Label Frames to mount my sentiment to the card front.
HOW TO CREATE:
1. Stamp the snowflake background to white flocked paper in blue pigment ink.
2. Mount to an A2 card base with a full sheet of foam adhesive.
3. Diecut the snowflakes from white cardstock, then cover in glitter.
4. Stamp the sentiment to white cardstock, then diecut with the label frame.
5. Diecut the next two largest labels from light & dark blue cardstocks.
6. Layer the labels together, popping the smaller layer off the larger layer with foam tape.
7. Adhere the entire label to the card front.
8. Arrange and adhere the snowflakes as shown.
9. Finish by accenting with self-adhesive iridescent jewels.

I get these jewels at Michael's, so they aren't linked below. Because the paper is flocked and the snowflakes are glittered, I also added a small dot of mixed media adhesive underneath each one to make sure they would stay adhered.

Unfortunately I can't remember what brand of pigment ink we used, so I can't give you the exact color. But any light blue or aqua colored pigment ink would work!

That is everything I have for you today! If you have any questions about my card, feel free to leave them in the comments and I will be sure to reply.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday!

3 Years

November 18, 2019

Yesterday marked 3 years since the day you left our arms this side of Heaven.

Year 1 was full of anger & surviving.

Year 2 was full of deep, deep sorrow.

Year 3 has been a lot about wondering, and questioning. Who would you have been? What would be your favorite things? What would you have looked like? Would you still be in the hospital? Where would you have been developmentally?

Those questions don't come without anger & sorrow, but most days it's softer. The days where they feel like they are trying to drill me into the ground come less often. It still happens, but I don't stay there as long as I once did. And I feel like this wondering & questioning stage is going to be a long one - likely for the rest of my life.

I will always wonder who both you & Ellie would have become. We are in the time of year that is always the hardest for me. Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.....my favorite time of year, that I couldn't wait to share with you both. Dressing you up in the cutest costumes, playing in leaves, taking family photos in adorable sweaters & boots. Decorating, baking cookies, looking at Christmas lights, buying you presents, volunteering our time....

We lost so many moments....so many MEMORIES the days you both died.

Oh how I wanted to have them all. The good moments, and the bad. The scary, and the amazing. The insignificant moments that never would have been insignificant to me. I wanted them ALL.

I feel robbed of so much. I feel jealous that other parents get all of them with their kids. Especially when it seems they aren't absolutely in awe that their little ones are alive and well, and getting to do all these amazing things.

We do things in your honor. We do things in your memory. And while that is wonderful, and heartwarming and I won't ever stop doing it...but it does feel like putting a tiny band aid over a huge, gaping hole in my heart.

There isn't a day that goes by where I don't wonder who you would have been in that very moment. What we would have been doing. What the day would have held for us.

I'll keep wondering until the day I take my final breath, and meet you both on the other side of the veil.

Until then little ones....I love you & miss you every single second of every single day.

Love,
mommy
