Lil' Inker Designs - January 2018 Newsletter Project - Love You More Than Words

February 14, 2018

Happy Valentine's Day, blog friends! This is my second post for the day, so be sure to also check out my SugarPea Designs Winter Product Release day 3 post {it's pretty cute, if I do say so myself. :) }.  With it being love day, I also wanted to share a pretty Valentine's day card too!

Something that you might not know is that I create exclusive newsletter projects for Lil' Inker Designs, and these are the cards that were featured in the January newsletter! If you haven't already signed up for the LID newsletter, just click on that website link, and then scroll to the bottom of the page. There is a place to sign up in the lower right corner! Along with getting to see exclusive projects from me before they go anywhere else, there are also special promotions & monthly deals as well.

Before I get to my card, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. This  is a great way to keep up with me, my latest creations & new product that I work with!

Now on to my cards! They are ombre themed, with lots of pretty pink & gorgeous gold glitter - perfect for Valentine's day!

To start I created two A2 cards from heavyweight white cardstock. Then I cut a block of pink Dip Dyed Ombre patterned paper slightly smaller and embossed it with the Quilted Stitched XOXO die. Then I diecut the heart shape from the top, and covered the back with transparency.

Next I diecut the Love You More Than Words Script Heart die sentiment from white cardstock twice & from gold glitter paper once and adhered them together. This gave the sentiment some structure & rigidity, making it easier to attach to the card front.

Next I added foam tape to the back of the patterned paper in order to create the shaker. Be sure to put strips of foam tape around the edges of the card, and around the edges of the heart so no sequins try to escape!

Then I added a sampling of sequins to the middle of the card and adhere the foam taped block to the front. I always have the tendency to overfill the shaker with sequins, so be aware of how many you are including. It's way more fun if the shaker card actually shakes!

To finish the shaker card, I added the diecut sentiment directly to the cut-out heart, and then accented with my signature jewels!

I created the second card because I didn't want to waste the beautiful ombre heart that I diecut from the first card. So, I diecut some additional hearts from gold glitter paper using the Dual Dotted Hearts dies. I marked where each heart bottom would be on the card front, and then stamped the balloon strings.

Next I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment to the upper right corner of the ombre heart using the Love You More stamp set. Then I arranged & adhered all of the hearts to the card front using foam adhesive.

To finish, of course, I accented with my signature jewels! And that's that - easy peasy!

Those are my valentine's day cards to share with you today! I hope that you enjoyed them!

I really love Valentine's day, and the month of February. I love having a couple of weeks where we really focus on how important love is in this world. Two years ago today, we announced that our love was multiplying, and Layton would be coming into the world. Even after losing Ellie, never in a million years did I believe that Layton wouldn't be here today. So today, my heart hurts at the same time it is full of love. I love those babies so much, and miss them every single second of every single day. I wish they were here. I wish I were photographing them in pink & red & white, with hearts & lipstick kisses all over. Instead - I think about them up in Heaven, embraced by the One who is Love, and wishing there were a way I could look upon that beautiful sight.

Hoping you day is full. Of love. Of life. Of beautiful memories. Sending hugs to you & yours on this day we celebrate the greatest thing of all...
