Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash - Shaker Challenge

February 1, 2018

Happy February, blog friends!  I hope that the start of your 2018 has been wonderful!  I'm sorry it's been so quiet around here...you should see a lot more of me this month!  And I'm so happy to be back creating!

Today I'm sharing a card I created for the 4th Annual Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash!

I'm SO excited to be back and participating in the annual Winnie & Walter birthday bash that happens every February!  It's a super fun month, full of inspiration, challenges, new products & TONS of prizes!!  Here are some important links you need to read:

Okay - so, some details.  Be SURE to enter the GIGANTIC giveaway linked above.  One lucky entrant will win EVERY single stamp set we release in 2018!  That is the giveaway of ALL giveaways!!

I have linked my challenge above, and there are NINE other challenge to play along with!  {They are all linked in The Details post above.}  One participant from each challenge will win a $75 gift certificate to the Winnie & Walter shop! In order to qualify, you must create a new project & use at least 1 Winnie & Walter item on it (including stamps, dies, stencils or digital items).  It is completely fine if you choose to combine challenges in one project!

We will also be picking our next Guest Star from the challenge entrants, who will receive the next Release & will participate in the next Release by having their projects featured on the w&w blog alongside The Talent.  If you'd like to be considered for the Guest Star spot, you must create at least FOUR (4) new & original projects into at least FOUR (4) of the Birthday Bash challenges.  And finally - find the rest of the necessary details on becoming the next Guest Star in The Details post linked above.

You have until February 28th at 11:55pm CST to enter all of our challenges.

Without further ado, let's take a closer look at my challenge! At Winnie & Walter, we don't just celebrate romantic love, we celebrate ALL love!  So my challenge for you this month is to create a shaker card that celebrates some kind of love!!  It could be for your sweetie....for your bestie...or for a random stranger. ;)  {You never know...it might just make their day.}

To start, I diecut the True Multifaceted Heart Cutaway from an ombre shaded patterned paper block..  After popping out all the pieces, I did the inlaid technique and used washi tape on the backside to adhere the diecut heart back into the paper block.  I then covered the back with a transparency, and added 2 layers of foam adhesive to it & set it aside.

Next I diecut the In A Word: Kisses Cutaway four (4) times: three times from white cardstock, and 1 time from patterned paper.  I adhered the 4 layers together to give the sentiment dimension & rigidity.  I then stamped the first part of the sentiment in Delicata Golden Glitz ink (SS|EH) using the Sending You with Evelin Tee stamp set to a thin strip of white cardstock.  Next I lightly marked where the "kisses" diecut would overlap the strip, then cut banner edges to each end.

 After making an A2 card from heavyweight white cardstock, I added a mix of jewels & sequins to the middle and then adhered the ombre paper block to the top. I layered the sentiment over top of a knot of gold thread using liquid adhesive & foam tape.  To finish, I accented with a glitter heart sticker & my usual jewels!

The papers that I used for this card are older, so I wasn't able to link them below.  They are the 6x6 papers from the Hello, Love collection by Crate Paper.  While you may not be able to purchase the physical papers any longer, you can still get the Hello, Love digital collection.  Other than that, all products used will be linked below!

I hope that you will join in the fun with us this month for the W&W 4th Annual Birthday Bash, and that you will take my love themed shaker challenge!!

  12. Visiting late; I've been side-lined by the flu! Your shaker is both cute and classy, Lea, a style combination that's a feat to accomplish, but one you do so incredibly well. Love the colours, the shaker elements, the patterned sentiment die. Simply striking! I want to reach into my screen and give this beauty a closer look and a gentle shake...
