Hey there, blog friends! It's going to be a fun week, as it is Sweet Peek Week for SugarPea Designs!
All week long I will have projects featuring brand new products from SugarPea Designs that will be available on Friday at 6pm EST! Each day has a blog hop of sorts, where you can hop along and check out what each SPD designer & guest has created with the day's featured product! I will have that link list for you at the end of my post. {All links below will not go live until Friday evening.}
Today I am featuring the Postage Stamp CoverPlate, and the Hello word die. The Hello word die was the Sweet Incentive during the last release, but now it is for sale! This word die is a MUST HAVE, so be sure to pick it up this week if you didn't get it as the Sweet Incentive during our winter release.
So, I've done my VERY first video with this card today, and I am super excited to share it with you today! Please keep in mind that I am by no means a pro, but I am happy with how it turned out!
I will still absolutely also share this as a written tutorial for those that would prefer to not watch a video. But, I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you'd like to start this new journey with me! My YouTube channel just went live, so this is the only video uploaded at this point, but you can expect more in the very near future.
I created a sweet little shaker card for my project today in shades of pink & gold! I think it turned out so pretty!! Check it out
To start, I created an A2 card from cashmere cardstock. Then I cut two blocks of white cardstock the same size as the card front. I blended distress oxide inks (colors: Worn Lipstick & Tattered Rose) in an ombre gradient to the front of the first block. Then I splattered water droplets to it, which react with the ink and picked them up with a paper towel. After that I sprayed it with white Heidi Swapp Color Shine, and then flicked it with gold paint splatters. Then I set it aside to dry.
Once dry, I diecut the larger Postage Stamp SugarCut from the inked block. Then I diecut the smaller Postage Stamp & Heart SugarCut from the other block of white cardstock. I added a block of transparency behind the heart for the shaker part of the card.
Next I layered the ink block to the card front using foam. I added the sequin mix to the middle, then layered the white cardstock block over top of it with foam adhesive as well. I felt like it looked a little bit too stark, so I put covered the transparency & the card edges, and flicked more gold paint splatters to the front.
Then I diecut the word Hello four times: once from gold glitter paper, and three times from white cardstock. I glued these together to give the sentiment some structure, then adhered it to the card front over top of a knot of gold thread. To finish the card, I accented it with my signature jewels tucked here & there!
Here is a peek at the items I used to create this card, minus basics like cardstock & tools. (I did realize after the fact that the shimmer spray wasn't included...but it is linked below!) I love showing that it doesn't take a ton of supplies to create a really pretty card!
That is my card for you today! I hope that you like it! Now let's get to the rest of the information you need. First up, here is the link list:
