It is beautiful here!!!

April 15, 2010

Two days ago, it was snowing and super cold.  Today it is sunny, gorgeous, and in the 60's!  Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70's!!  I can't even tell you HOW excited I am for that!!  And then in a couple weeks...it will probably snow again.  Tee hee- welcome to Spring in Montana!

I have just a couple of things to share with you today.  First up is my card for CPS Sketch 162 this week.  I flipped it around and changed it around a little...but I think it is pretty fun.  I felt like I hadn't done anything rainbow themed in awhile...so had get my fix!  Tee hee!
"Rainbow Love" supplies
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: Clearsnap (Pigment: black)
Ribbon: Offray
Jewels/Button: Doodlebug Designs
Embossing Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Impression Plate: Papertrey Ink

Instructions:  Fold black cardstock in half to make card base.  Emboss a white cardstock block using the Cuttlebug and the Polka Dot Basics II impression plate, and adhere to the front of the card.  Cut six rainbow colored strips of cardstock, and adhere to the middle.  Tie ribbon around the middle of the card, and accent the bow with a button.  Stamp the sentiment to a white cardstock block, and adhere rainbow colored jewels directly below it.  Adhere the entire block to the front of the card using dimensional adhesive.

I don't create very often specifically for publication calls, but I did do this one for the Back To School section of the last Cards Magazine call.  But, I had the idea for awhile and never any time to get it done...so it was perfect timing.  It didn't get picked up, so I am going to share it with you now!!

I have a little bit of bummer news to share.  This year those that wanted to had to reapply to be on the Provo Craft design team, and unfortunately I didn't make the cut this time around.  I am a little sad about that, but life shall go on. :)  I had three great years of generosity from Provo Craft, and learned a lot about two of my favorite crafting machines.  And I will still use my Cricut Expression and Cuttlebug all the time....now I just have to pay for the stuff.  Ack!!  So- let me know where you buy your Cricut and Cuttlebug product from....I will be looking for the best prices!

The great news is that I have two other fabulous manufacturers that I still work for.  GCD Studios, of course, is the newest team I am on.  And I am really loving it!  The papers and product are so fun!  And I am still on the Glitz Designs team....and I have some exciting news on that front as well!  I will be heading up the design team as the coordinator, and you are going to start to see lots of fabulous posts from Glitz on their blog!  We will be announcing the full design team next week...so I will post a link to that when we do!

So, do you want to see some fabulous photos of a really cute boy?  Of  course you do!  Tee hee!  I did a little mini shoot of Casey in his Carroll gear to add to his senior portrait collection.  I have been reading a lot about cinematic and edgier editing lately...so I played around with processing them that way.  I really like how they turned out!
I had to add that last photo!!  It totally cracks me up.  I think I said something like "Show me your sexy face!"  And I got the "Seriously, sis?" face instead.  And even with the face...he still looks amazing.  So unfair.  No one should be able to be so photogenic.  Tee hee!

Well, that is all I have for you today! I hope you liked my cards, and my little brother eye candy!  Have a wonderful day! ♥♥♥

Until later,
~Lea

  4. Fun cards, Lea. Love the bright colour strips you used on the first one and how you used the dotted circles around the apples. Sorry to hear about the Provo Craft issue. I buy mine on line from a great Canadian supplier or my LSS with a coupon. All That Scraps carries them I believe.

GREAT set of pictures!! Love how you used the stairs and railing to frame the first ones and I must say the biceps on the first colour picture against the brick wall with him cradling the football caught my attention LOL! Thanks for putting the last picture in - it is simply adorable (don't tell him I used the word adorable though as it is not a "he man" word LOL!). That grin and expression is precious.
