This week Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 5th anniversary, which is such a great milestone! I didn't get a chance to take part in the day 1 activities, but on today's 5th Anniversary Post there were some digital freebies offered up, and I created two cards with them! Here is my first card:
"Happiest of Birthdays" supplies:
Cardstock/Digital Stamp/Stamp/Felt: Papertrey Ink
Paper/Brad/Tag: My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found 2 "Blush" 6x6 pad)
Ink: Tsukineko (Versafine: onyx black)
Distress Ink/Blending Tool: Tim Holtz
Buttons: My Mind's Eye (black) & Papertrey Ink (pink)
Seam Binding: The Cat's Pajamas
Twine: May Arts
Dies: Papertrey Ink (ric-rac border), Spellbinders (circle) & WPlus9 (circle stacker)
Diecut Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Sewing Machine: Brother
Sandpaper
Instructions: Make card from vintage cream cardstock. Cut black dotted paper slightly smaller. Cut three tags from patterned paper, distress the edges and adhere to the black dotted paper. Zigzag stitch along the edges, and in-between the tags, then adhere the entire paper block to the card front. Tie a bow from seam binding, and adhere it to the top of the middle tag. Thread three buttons with twine, and adhere them to the top of each tag. Diecut the doily and digital circle sentiment, distress the edges, and layer together. Stamp the sentiment to a banner diecut, adhere to the sentiment circle with a brad, then adhere the entire sentiment to the card front using foam adhesive. Cut two pieces of felt using a ric-rac die, then twist together to make two felt roses. Adhere them to the side of the sentiment circle to finish.
Card Challenges Used:
-Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful #19- Beauty of Love
-Color Throwdown #177- black, melon, white
-Fab N Funky #106- use a digi image
-Creative Inspirations #148- make a tag
Since my first card was pretty detailed, and full of layers....I decided to go clean and simple with my second card. I think it turned out so cute!!
"Bee Mine! Sweetie" supplies:
Cardstock/Digital Stamp: Papertrey Ink
Paper/Diecuts/Button: My Mind's Eye (Love Me 6x6 pad)
Twine: May Arts
Punch: Fiskars (scalloped heart)
Die: Spellbinders (circle)
Diecut Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Corner Rounder: Creative Memories
Corner Rounder: Creative Memories
Instructions: Make card from kraft cardstock. Diecut a circle from the upper left corner, then adhere the digitally printed sentiment underneath it. Punch a scalloped circle from striped paper, and adhere to the side of the circle. Add the diecut sentiment banner, then adhere a twine threaded button to the top of it. Adhere a diecut number border to the bottom of the card, and tie twine across the top of it. Fussy cut a banner, then zigzag stitch below the red numbers. Adhere a circle diecut to the middle of the red numbers using foam adhesive to finish.
