JustRite Guest Designer Reveal

March 8, 2012

Happy Thursday, everyone!  How has your week been so far?  Mine has been a good one!  My brother and I went to see Tim Tebow speak (well, more like get interviewed) yesterday!  I adore him, so I was very excited to go to the event!  Plus the ticket proceeds benefited a great organization in our city, so it was worth it.  Tim Tebow was surprisingly soft spoken....not quiet, but not in your face like most NFL players.  He seemed so genuine and truthfully....still very innocent and not jaded.  He was funny and witty and charming....just as would be expected.  Casey and I had a great time...it would have only been better if we could have met him! Tee hee! :)

Well, I have three cards to share with you today!  I was the guest designer this week at the JustRite Stampers blog, and I can now reveal the three projects I created on my blog.  So, this post might get a little lengthy...but hopefully you will still be inspired!  Here is my first card:
"Keep Calm and Trust God" supplies:
Cardstock/Medium Scallop Die: Papertrey Ink (vintage cream)
Paper/Crown Sticker: Glitz Design (Beautiful Dreamer: floral, polka)
Stamps: JustRite Stampers (Just Keep Calm set)
Label Die: JustRite Stampers (Nested Medallion Labels)
Ink: Clearsnap (Donna Salazar Mixed Media: leather, chiffon, peridot)
Seam Binding: The Cat's Pajamas
Lace: craft supply
Twine: May Arts
Flowers: Recollections
Pearls: Michael's brand
Pins: Maya Road
Button: American Crafts
Diecut Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Sandpaper

Instructions:  Make card from vintage cream cardstock.  Cut floral paper slightly smaller, sand the edges and adhere.  Diecut a scalloped edge from aqua heart paper, sand the edges and adhere to the left side.  Thread pink seam binding through white lace, then wrap around the left side seam.  Tie a double bow from matching seam binding, thread a button around the middle with twine, and adhere to the top of the lace.  Diecut the label from vintage cream cardstock, then stamp the frame & sentiment to it.  Adhere to the card front using foam adhesive, then accent with paper flower and pearls.  Accent the bow area with a crown sticker, a paper flower, and two stick pins to finish.

Card Challenges Used:
-Divas by Design #25- favorite things (everything on this card are my favorite things to craft with.)
-The Shabby Tea Room #104- aqua, pink, green + a tag
-The Pink Elephant #138- use 3+ layers
-PanPastel #8- use a stamped image
-CES challenge #75- flower frenzy
-Stampin' for the Weekend #4- bingo card (ribbons/bows, lace, diecuts)
-Clearly Inspired #47- anything goes

For my second card, I created a fun little St. Patrick's Day card.  I was also inspired by the card featured on last week's CASE Study, but I am too late to enter it into that challenge.  Here is what I created:
"Happy St. Patrick's Day" supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (kraft)
Paper: Lawn Fawn (Bright Side: upbeat, silver lining) & Bella Blvd (Christmas Wishes: north pole)
Stamps: JustRite Stampers (Spring Words set)
Ink: Clearsnap (Pigment: frost white)
Twine: May Arts
Jewels/Button: Doodlebug Designs
Dies: My Favorite Things (hearts) & Spellbinders (circle)
Diecut Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Sewing Machine: Brother

Instructions:  Make card from kraft cardstock.  Cut chevron kraft paper slightly smaller.  Diecut the hearts from green patterned papers, and layer to the chevron paper.  Cut the shamrock stem from matching paper, and adhere to the front to finish the shamrock shape.  Machine stitch through the middle of each shamrock leaf.  Diecut the circle from kraft cardstock and stamp the sentiment to it.  Adhere the sentiment circle to the middle of the shamrock with foam adhesive, then accent it and the shamrock leaves with jewels.  Tie twine around the bottom of the chevron block, and accent the middle with a green glittery button.  Adhere the entire chevron block to the card front using foam adhesive to finish.

Card Challenges Used:
-Pixie Dust Studios #117- show us your Irish
-Papercraft Star #87- lucky St. Patrick's Day
-Really Reasonable Ribbon #43- monochromatic green
-Inky Impressions #49- luck of the Irish
-Pile It On #10- spots &/or stripes
-Paper Sundaes #10- green or good luck

And last, but definitely not least is this sweet Easter card.  It is a little non-traditional in terms of product used.  When matching product with the sentiment I wanted to use, I kept coming back to this vintage image of the children playing...and it just looks like they were rejoicing in their cute little Easter bonnets and dresses.  Then I grabbed this sheet of paper that had the children with baskets, searching for what I can only assume is Easter eggs...and thus the card was born!  Here is what I created:
"Rejoice!" supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (vintage cream)
Paper: Prima Marketing (Romantique 6x6 paper pad)
Doily: Royal Lace
Vintage Image: Crafty Secrets
Stamps: JustRite Stampers (Easter Blessings & Lace Borders sets)
Ink: Clearsnap (Stephanie Bernard dye: chocolate & Donna Salazar mixed media: honey)
Distress Ink/Blending Tool: Tim Holtz (antique linen)
Ribbon: Webster's Pages
Flowers: Prima Marketing & Recollections
Chipboard: Tattered Angels
Pearls: Michael's brand
Glitter: DecoArt
Sandpaper

Instructions:  Make card from vintage cream cardstock.  Cut vintage children paper slightly smaller, distress the edges and adhere.  Cut a strip of floral paper, distress the edges and adhere to the bottom.  Stamp the lace border across the floral block, and the sentiment to the lower left corner.  Distress ink a heart doily, and adhere to the front.  Cover a chipboard frame in glitter, add the vintage image to it and adhere to the top of the heart doily.  Cut two bits of floral trim and adhere to each side of the frame.  Accent the right side of the heart top with paper flowers.  Add pink pearls to the leaf vine on the patterned paper, and to the stamped sentiment to finish.

Card Challenges Used:
-Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #159- 3 colors from photo inspiration
-Pollycraft Monday #130- spring has sprung
-Fussy and Fancy #57- more than words
-Papertake Weekly- anything goes
-PaperCrafting Journey #4- anything goes

Well, that is everything for now!  Thanks for making it all the way to the end of this post!  I have some fun news to share tomorrow, so be sure to check back!  Have a great rest of your day! ♥♥♥

Until later,
~Lea L.
