Best Dad Ever!

May 9, 2012

Hey there, everyone!  So, today is my first official post as a StopAndScrap design team member!!  I am very excited to be part of this wonderful design team and paper crafting store...and I hope that I can give you a little bit of inspiration every time I post!

Today I am sharing a sports themed father's day card that any dad would be overjoyed to receive!  And what a better way to honor dad than to call him your MVP...he will be both honored and humbled.

I pulled out a some of my favorite papers and diecuts from Jillibean Soup to create this fun little card.  The Game Day Chili collection is perfect for all the men and boys in your life!!  And it paired up perfectly with the super fun "Say Cheese Too" stamp set by Lawn Fawn!  Here is what I created:
 "Best Dad Ever!" supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (kraft)
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Say Cheese Too set)
Ink: Clearsnap (Pigment: frost white)
Pins: Maya Road (clear top) & craft supply (blue top)
Twine: May Arts
Ribbon: Pebbles
Buttons: craft supply

Instructions: Make card from kraft cardstock.  Cut blue houndstooth paper slightly smaller, and adhere.  Cut a strip of star paper and adhere to the right side.  Cut a banner strip from patterned paper and adhere to the bottom.  Cut a circle from star paper, and layer on a scalloped circle diecut.  Adhere the entire piece to the front.  Wrap twine around the top of the banner paper, and adhere a button around the double bow center.  Cut banner edges to two ribbon strips and adhere together to the front.  Adhere a green circle diecut to the top of the ribbon with foam adhesive.  Stamp the sentiment to a kraft cardstock strip, adhere to a clear topped pin and place on the green diecut.  Cut a pennant flag from patterned paper, adhere to a blue topped pin, and place at an angle from the sentiment.  Thread a button with twine and adhere to the green diecut to finish.

Card Challenges Used:
-Mojo Monday #240- sketch
-Stampin' Sisters in Christ #138- real & natural (twine)
-Ooh La La! #104- masculine
-52 Card Pickup #18- anything goes

I love how Jillibean Soup combines colors & kraft together....they really are pros at it!  They have another masculine themed collection releasing soon, and StopAndScrap already has it available for pre-order.  Just click on the banner and it will take you to the Macho Nacho Soup pre-order!

There is also still time to win a $20 gift certificate to the store from my blog....just be sure to check out the Design Team Announcement and leave a comment!!  You have until Sunday, May 13th to enter for your chance to win!

Thank you for checking out my fun and colorful father's day card today!  I hope you have a great rest of your day!!

Until later,
