Happy Friday, blog friends! It's almost time for the weekend! There is so much crafty inspiration out there for you this weekend! If you haven't had a chance to check out Rubeena's 2 Day blog hop yet, then be sure to do that this weekend. It is chalk full of inspiration and prizes - including my blog hop post + giveaway (you can get all the details you need in that link).
And today Pinkfresh Studio is collaborating with Wow! Embossing Powders for a blog hop of our own!
Today’s hop is full of inspiration from both teams combining our two wonderful products together. We can’t wait for you to see all that we have in store for you! There are also a couple of prizes to be won! I will give you all that info, along with the complete link list at the end of my post, but how about we get to my card first.
I have been wanting to create a wedding shop with the Merry and Bright Toy Shop die ever since I laid eyes on it, and today was the day! I have used quite a selection of Pinkfresh Studio stamps & dies that will all be linked below, and the embossing powders from Wow complimented them perfectly!
I am happy to say that I was able to create a process video for this card. You can view it here, or in HD on my YouTube channel!
I hope that you liked a little look into my creative process! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you did, and subscribe to my channel if you haven't yet. Now that I've gotten everything figured out on my new laptop, I will be posting more consistently to it!
I know that not everyone loves to watch process videos, so I will still continue to do write-ups for all of my cards too! To start I diecut the storefront from heavyweight white cardstock four times, then adhered them together. This is a step I do quite often in order to get the dimension that I want, and you don't necessarily have to do it. You could pop it up with foam tape as well...I just like the added weight this gives to the card.
Next I cut a piece of cashmere cardstock in half, and put it into my MISTI. I add the storefront to the top of it, and place the shown stamps in the windows. Then I stamped & heat embossed them in Pearl Gold Sparkle embossing powder. This piece is actually my card base, so once the embossing was done, I folded it in half.
I always try to do all the stamping at one time when creating my cards, so next I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment directly to the storefront layer using Pink Taffeta embossing powder and Onyx Black Versafine. Then I stamped the rest of the elements in the same Versafine ink.
Next I used my Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolors to color in the florals and cake. I also used some of my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors paint to add some gold to the stamped cake image. Once the watercolor dried, I cut them all out with their coordinating die.
At this point it was time to put the card together. I mounted the storefront layer to the cashmere card base, then popped up the cake & florals with some foam dots. I created a wedding dress from white tulle just by tying a knot as the top of the dress, then fluffing the bottom into a skirt. Once the dress looked right, I adhered it to the right side window.
The final step was to add my signature jewels tucked here & there, and of course...I also added some shimmer to the florals & cake with my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen.
While there were quite a few steps to this card, it turned out exactly as I had envisioned. I love when things come together like you expect them to!
As I mentioned above...there are prizes to be won!
Prizes:
-Wow Embossing: 6 powders from your choosing along with a WOW carry case to store you powders safely in.
-Pinkfresh Studio: $50 giftcard
The Winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on all of the blog hop posts. Comments close on Friday, September 7th. We will post the Pinkfresh Studio winner on our Giveaway Page on Saturday, September 8th. {Please reference the Wow Embossing blog for the details on when they will post their winner.}
Blog Hop Link List:
