Reverse Confetti - Stock Your Stash September

September 24, 2018

Happy Monday, blog friends! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! I photographed a wedding this weekend with my hubby as the second shooter, and we had a lovely time! It was a super long, super filled day - but we had such an amazing couple with amazing families...and it always makes the hard work worth it.

Today I have a card set featuring the new Fall Foliage stamps & coordinating dies from Reverse Confetti. I have created this for their September Stock Your Stash Challenge, which has a Halloween/Fall theme.
You've got about 4 days left to play along, so be sure to check out the link above for the rules and link up a new project for your chance to win a $20 Reverse Confetti giftcard!

I've created a set of fall themed cards for the challenge, using non-traditional colors Tim Holtz Distress Inks as my watercolor palette. I am really excited about how they turned out, and for someone who isn't the biggest fan of purple (ahem...me.), I am really loving the colors!

SugarPea Designs - Sweet 2 Repeat Blog Hop

September 21, 2018

Happy Friday, blog friends! Today is the Sweet 2 Repeat Blog Hop at SugarPea Designs, where we share more inspiration using the most recent Fall release!
https://sugarpeablog.com/category/sweet-2-repeat/

I will have all the giveaway and blog hop info at the bottom of the post, but how about we get to my card first? I have used a combination of products from SugarPea Designs today, including Bewitched, Darling Dragons, Hocus Pocus SugarCuts & Stardust SugarCut. During the release I only used a couple of small items from the Darling Dragons stamp set, and I wanted to be sure to stamp & color one of those cutie dragons this time around!

Simon Says Stamp - Tim Holtz Exclusive

September 20, 2018

Happy Thursday, friends! Just wanted to pop in really quickly and share some cards that I made with Tim Holtz's NEW STAMPtember® 2018 Exclusive stamp & stencil set!
http://shrsl.com/16hff

I've created 4 cards (as shown above), so this post might be quite lengthy. I will try to keep it as short & sweet as possible! This stamp set is really beautiful - I love how botanical it is, and the vintage feel of the sentiments! It is a super versatile Christmas set that I think you will LOVE creating with! And even better - most of the images can be used year round, depending on how you color them!

First up, I made a set of cards in a non-traditional color palette. I loved that this is a succulent, so I chose to go with the pastel green & purple that succulents tend to be, but still used it for Christmas. You could easily exchange out the sentiment, and use this image any time of the year!

Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolor Video Hop

September 17, 2018

Happy Monday, blog friends! It's been a bit quiet around here since the Reverse Confetti release, and that is because I have been busy getting ready for today's Video Hop with Pinkfresh Studio!

We have a really awesome line-up of papercraft designers who have joined on to do a video using our amazing liquid watercolors! There are some giveaways to be won, and I will give you all those details and the link list of all the YouTube Channels involved in the hop at the bottom of this post.

I decided to show you how easy it is to create a galaxy background like this with your liquid watercolors - you really can just let them do most of the work! I have combined the liquid watercolors with the Pinkfresh Studio Constellation stamp set, and Constellation coordinating dies!

As this is a video hop, I have created a video sharing how I put this card together! You can view it here, or in HD on my YouTube channel!

I hope that you liked a little look into my creative process! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you did, and subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven't yet. Now that I've gotten everything figured out on my new laptop, I will be posting more consistently to it!

I know that not everyone loves to watch process videos, so I will still continue to do write-ups for all of my cards too! To start, I created the galaxy background on a white cardstock panel. {You can absolutely use watercolor paper for this, but I have found that the cardstock I use takes water pretty well, and I like that it is bright white & smooth.} Creating galaxy backgrounds is easy with liquid watercolor! I just added a generous wash of clean water to the paper panel, then dropped the colors I wanted to the front. I used more black than any other color, then moved the colors around with a bit of water and a round brush. The key that I have found to a really great galaxy background is to let it dry naturally, and not with a heat tool. This way the watercolor can continue to slightly react to each other until they are fully dry - plus a heat tool pushes the colors around more than I like.

Once the panel is fully, I splattered it with watered down titanium white acrylic paint, then with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors gold paint. Then I set the block aside to allow the paint splatters to dry.

Next I diecut the stars & constellation from white cardstock three times, and the constellation one more time from gold glittered paper. I adhered each of the layers together to give it more dimension once added to the card front. Then I covered the diecut stars in embossing ink & Glow in the Dark embossing powder, and heat set them all. I love adding little extra touches like this for the recipients of my cards!

Next I stamped & heat embossed the smaller sentiment in gold glitter to vellum, and the main sentiment right to the middle of the watercolor panel in detail white. It is important to verify that the panel is bone dry before attempting to heat emboss to it, and use your powder tool generously. With all the stamping done, I mounted the watercolor panel to the front of a white, top folding A2 card base, then adhered the vellum sentiment & diecut stars to the front.

The final step was accenting here & there with my signature iridescent jewels. Here is just a shot to try and show how the gold paint splatters add a nice glimmer & shine to the card!

That is what I have for you today! I hope you enjoyed it! As I mentioned above, this card & the video shared above are part of a video hop. Of course, there are prizes to be won on each video stop, and all you have to do to enter to win is leave a comment on each one! You have the chance to win a full set of the liquid watercolors on the Pinkfresh Studio video, and a chance to win a $25 Pinkfresh Studio giftcard by commenting on all the other videos, including mine!

Countown to Confetti - Christmas Candles

September 7, 2018

Hi there, blog friends! Welcome to day 2 of Countown to Confetti! Today I've got two cards to share with you using more of Reverse Confetti's new release!

Today we are featuring three holiday themed stamp sets, and I am excited about using all three of them. But today I focused on just the Christmas Candles stamp set. This week tragedy has hit my extended family, and while it is not my place to give any details...it has left me unsettled & asking questions that will likely be left unanswered. But as I created this card, I felt some peace...even if for just a moment. There is something about candles, candlelight and the warmth that they radiate - I'm not Catholic, but I feel a connection to their ritual of lighting candles for others when they pray.

Countown to Confetti - Fall Foliage + Cotton & Thistles

September 6, 2018

Hi there, blog friends! Welcome to day 2 of Countown to Confetti! Today I've got two cards to share with you using more of Reverse Confetti's new release!

Today I have used both the Fall Foliage stamp set with coordinating dies, and the Cotton & Thistles stamps & dies. I also used a little bit of the new Abundant Autumn patterned paper in the shaker card!

For my first card, I focused on the Fall Foliage stamp & die set. This set is FULL of leaves with bold lines - you are going to just LOVE coloring them! I used a somewhat unusual color palette, adding aquas and greens in with the typical autumn colors.
