Countown to Confetti - Fall Foliage + Cotton & Thistles

September 6, 2018

Hi there, blog friends! Welcome to day 2 of Countown to Confetti! Today I've got two cards to share with you using more of Reverse Confetti's new release!

Today I have used both the Fall Foliage stamp set with coordinating dies, and the Cotton & Thistles stamps & dies. I also used a little bit of the new Abundant Autumn patterned paper in the shaker card!

For my first card, I focused on the Fall Foliage stamp & die set. This set is FULL of leaves with bold lines - you are going to just LOVE coloring them! I used a somewhat unusual color palette, adding aquas and greens in with the typical autumn colors.

To start, I cut a patterned paper block, and adhered it to the front of a top folding A2 card. Next I diecut the square window from a block of white cardstock, and adhered the transparent window to the back. I stamped the sentiment directly to the middle of the transparency, then set aside to let it completely dry.

I highly recommend using a permanent ink, like Staz-On, or using heat resistant transparency so you can hit it with your heat gun. Once I felt it was dry enough to handle, I added some sequin mix to the middle of the card and mounted the window block to the top of it with foam tape.

Next I stamped all of the leaves from the set to a block of white cardstock in onyx black Versafine. I colored them all in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and then cut them out with their coordinating dies. I ended up using all of the leaves but one, which is why I love stamping all of the images from sets like this! Then I can layer, layer, & layer a little bit more! I used the following colors:

Orange leaves: brown, orange, bright yellow
Green leaves: deep green, emerald green, pale green
Aqua leaves: persian green, turquoise green, light blue

I layered the leaves to opposite corners of the shaker window using mixed media adhesive. Then I accented them with my signature jewels tucked here & there. Finally, I added a bunch of shimmer to the front using my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen in Midas Touch. This glitter is gold toned, and I thought it was the perfect touch for the fall foliage!

Up next, I created a card using the Cotton & Thistles stamp set with matching dies. I just love this beautiful bouquet, and you could definitely color the cotton in as a flower. I opted to keep it as is, and just love the fairly neutral color palette that I stuck with. The sentiments in this set are really beautiful too...I think you will just love them!

To start, I stamped the bouquet to a block of white cardstock. I opted to not use the glass jar this time around, but I look forward to using it in the future! Once again I colored the image in with my Zig markers. I used the following colors:

Flowers: bright yellow, yellow, pale yellow
Cotton: light gray
Stems: pale green, deep green (blend, blend, blend)

Once the coloring was set, I cut the bouquet out with the coordinating diecut.

Next I stamped the sentiment to the bottom of a white cardstock block, then mounted it to the front of a top folding A2 card with foam adhesive. Then I mounted the bouquet to the front with foam dots. I colored around the bouquet with a Zig marker in light blue, then used a size 4 round brush and some water to blend it out. I let the watercolor dry, covered the sentiment up with the stamp and flicked black paint splatters to the front.

I set the card aside to let the paint splatters dry while I tied a double bow from ivory May Arts twine. I tied a button around the middle, then adhered the entire bow to the middle of the bouquet using mixed media adhesive. I thought the button was enough for this simple card, so I chose to leave off the jewels this time around. :)

Finally, I added the same Midas Touch shimmer to the floral bouquet, and love the warm toned glitter that it added to the stamping!

These stamp sets are really, really beautiful and I think they will be must haves on your release wish lists! They, along with all the other new items will be available for purchase in the Reverse Confetti shop on September 8th at midnight!
