Happy Tuesday, blog friends! I hope that you had a wonderful Monday, and good start to your week. My day was busy, busy...but I did get a chance to photograph this trio of Christmas cards! These cards use product from Alexandra Renke, which is a German company that is making it's way into the U.S.! And well it should be, because her products are just gorgeous! You can find a selection of her products at both Simon Says Stamp and Ellen Hutson. She has an amazing selection of 2018 Christmas products, so head over & peruse a little bit!
Alexandra's booth was kiddie corner from Pinkfresh Studio at Creativation this past January, and I was just in awe of her beautiful designs. While today I am using more graphic designs, Alexandra creates these amazing realistic looking watercolor images on many of her other collections and it is just GORGEOUS. Creating some Christmas cards with those papers are on my to do list this week, but until then...just go peruse all of her amazing papers. They are drool worthy!
Today I am using the Nordic Christmas collection, which has smaller and more graphic patterns to the papers. I paired them with some of Alexandra's Christmas die sets. I love that although these are technically Christmas themed, the present dies could also be used for birthdays! You all know that I like when products have multiple purposes...I just think it is great for our crafty budgets!
To start, I first diecut all the outline presents & scripted words first. I diecut three layers for each cut: 1 from glitter paper, and 2 from 130 lb white cardstock. Then I layered them together with a Zig glue pen. Next I took the paper sheet called "Card -Bow Xmas - pattern international", which has all these adorable 2x3ish sized cards with Christmas sayings & pattern groupings on them! I layered my outline presents over the ones I wanted to use, then trimmed around the outside. {Unfortunately, this sheet is not included in the Nordic Christmas paper sets linked below. I couldn't find this one sheet in the U.S. - sorry about that! Alexandra Renke does ship to the US, but you will want to make a pretty substantial purchase, as Int'l shipping is costly.} Finally, I stamped some sentiments into each image in the presents.
Next it was time to choose the patterned papers that I wanted to go with each one, and the card base color. Once that was figured out, I diecut the two layers of patterned paper for each card with a scalloped rectangle die set from Winnie & Walter. Then I popped each layer up with foam adhesive on its respective card base, then adhered the present images to the front of each one with a Zig glue pen. I added the diecut scripted words to two of the cards, then finished by accenting here & there with my signature jewels.
Here is a look at each card individually. This card features the Framed Ribbon with Happy & Christmas dies, and has a teeny little sentiment from the Merry and Bright stamp set.
This card features the Framed Ribbon with Joy die set, and has a sentiment from Merry and Bright stamp set that I masked off in order to just use the word Christmas.
And finally, this card uses both of the framed ribbon die sets, plus a sentiment from the Meet Me Under the Mistletoe stamp set.
This trio of cards was super easy to create, and would be super easy to do in bulk! I love all the dimension that I've added to them, but you could easily make them more postal friendly by leaving one foam layer or both off.
Well, that is all I have for you today! I hope that you enjoyed these cards, and hopefully will check out some of these amazing products! I will be back tomorrow with something...I just haven't decided what yet. So, it will be a surprise! :)
Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) And of course, I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. My channel has been pretty quiet recently - I am right in the middle of reorganizing my entire craft area...so it is a bit disjointed. I have given myself a deadline of the end of December to get it completely finished, with my new studio area ready for video creation!! So, there will be a TON more videos in 2019. So thank you for bearing with me until then!
I hope that you have a terrific Tuesday!
