Last Minute Christmas Cards w/ Spellbinders November Card Kit + a GIVEAWAY

December 23, 2018

Happy Christmas Eve Eve, friends! :) I hope that you are having a lovely long holiday weekend so far! Ours has been quiet, and nice. We made some hot cocoa last night, and drove around our neighborhood looking at Christmas lights. I think we are going to do it again tomorrow night sans dogs...they just weren't as interested in looking at the lights as we were, and were a tad difficult in the car...lol! Silly pups!

Today I wanted to drop in and share some last minute Christmas cards that I created yesterday! All in all, they took me about 1.5 hours, but I didn't do them all at one time. While I spent a lot of time in my crafty studio yesterday, I also watched some Christmas movies while down there and did a lot of organizing too. So, I would gather elements and push them around a card until I felt like they looked right...you could probably get these done even quicker if you didn't fuss around with things as much as I do!

All of the cards I'm sharing today were created courtesy of the Spellbinders November Card Kit (the kit is sold out, but I linked it so you could see the contents. However, you can get some of the items still separately, and they are all linked below), which I purchased primarily for the die set. Lol! But when I get things like this, I like to challenge myself to sit down and use only the items in the kit. I did allow myself a Wink of Stella pen (SSS | EH) to add a bunch of shimmer, some onyx black Versafine ink for stamping & a corner punch tool...but that was it! Everything else came from the kit, including the cardstock. In no time I had 7 cards created, and enough product to create SO many more. If you are on the fence about subscribing to the Spellbinders Card Kit, trust me when I say you get a TON of product for the price, and will be able to make MANY cards...you just might have to supplement some cardstock/card bases.

I do have a giveaway for you today, and all of that info will be at the end of my post. But how about we get to my cards first! As I already mentioned, these were all created using primarily just the kit!

To start, I created these 4 cards on white card bases. This kit came with some of the cutest diecut ephemera, so I chose my favorites and grouped them together in ways I saw fit. I then paired them with some of the chipboard stickers, and layered them all to the card fronts. I used the gold glitter tape & thin strips from the Dear Santa 6x6 paper pad along an edge of each card just for some added shimmer & pattern. Then I tied a couple double bows from the included baker's twine, and accented with the enamel accents. Finally, I rounded some corners for interest.

Here is a peek at each one alone. This one might be my favorite, because I just love the cutie sweets!

I love the florals on this one, and all the shimmer I added to it. You can't really see the shimmer in the images, but it is very pretty in real life!

I thought this one would be perfect for your pet loving family & friends....like me! (Well, I'm not the biggest fan of cats, but they are still pretty cute on this card.)

And finally, I had to use this beautiful sticker sentiment included in the kit, and loved it with the wreath & candle diecuts.

Next I made a trio of cards with some of the colorful cardstock included in the kit. For these ones I trimmed down some of the patterned papers slightly smaller, and mounted them to the front of each card base with a block of foam adhesives.

Then, like the cards above, I just started arranging the diecut ephemera and chipboard stickers to the front. I did use a 2x3 journal card on the winter wonderland card, as the image was SO cute! It needed to grace the front of a card! I shimmered them up with my Wink of Stella pen, and accented with the enamel dots & stars as well to finish.

Here is a look at all the cards separately. This one uses the 2x3 pocket card, and I rounded the bottom corners on this card.

This one is probably my favorite of the colored card bases, as I just love images of transporting Christmas trees...no matter the vehicle!

And finally, I rounded opposite corners on this one, and how ADORABLE is that singing tree?! My goodness!

And that is all I have for you today! I wish I would have thought to take a photo of all 7 of the cards grouped together for my final image, but I didn't...so, it is what it is! You get this one! Lol!

As I mentioned above, I have a little giveaway for you! I have A LOT left from this kit, and I'm pretty sure I am done creating Christmas cards for the year. I am sure you are too, but I figured someone might like to have some of these great items in their collection for next year! Plus, I know that many of my cardmaking friends create Christmas cards year round in order to get ready for the next season...so I wanted to share the love a little bit!
Please note that the stamps & dies are not included in the giveaway - it is just the paper product/embellishments that are left! If you'd like me to pop this in the mail to you during the first week of January, just leave a comment on this blog post!

Please check my GIVEAWAY page on January 1st, as I will post the winner by 2pm CST. Just follow the instructions at the top of the page in order to claim your prize. PLEASE NOTE: I will not be sending out an email to the winner, so checking the giveaway page is a must in order to get your prize. Thanks for your understanding!

That is all I have for you today, friends! I have update my Crafty Sales page with the latest promos as I get them, so be sure to check it out! Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) And of course, I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. My channel has been pretty quiet recently - I am right in the middle of reorganizing my entire craft area...so it is a bit disjointed. I have given myself a deadline of the end of December to get it completely finished, with my new studio area ready for video creation!! So, there will be a TON more videos in 2019. So thank you for bearing with me until then!

You are going to see a new option up there....Facebook. I go back & forth on this a lot, but I was looking through my personal FB page the other day...and it was cards for days. It doesn't leave room for what I want my personal FB to have on it - personal photos & such. So, I have created a FB page for Lea Lawson Creates again. I would love to have you join, and be sure to subscribe to notifications so you don't miss out on anything. I would like to make the page interactive, and a way that we can actually hang out...so if you have any ideas on that, I would appreciate it!
I hope that you have a happy Friday!
