Pinkfresh Studio - Hello With A Bouquet Card Trio

December 13, 2018

Happy Thursday, friends! I hope that your week has been going wonderfully! It has been great having my family here...though I've gone to the Mall of America more times in one week than I've maybe gone all year. Lol! And with my brother and his fiance Bri arriving, we will likely be going again. I can't wait for them to get here tonight!!

Today I wanted to share some cards that I made for the Pinkfresh Studio October release using one of my FAVORITE standalone dies called Hello With A Bouquet. I just think this die is SO gorgeous, and there are so many different ways you can use it. Today I've got a trio of cards, sharing three different techniques with it!

To start, I cut the die out multiple times from white cardstock, and then once from gold glittered paper. Then I wanted to try embossing it to a panel of white cardstock. This took a few tries to figure out the best sandwich option for my Gemini Jr. The embossing mat that comes with the Gemini didn't work for this die, as it still cut out a large portion of the die. After some trial & error, I found that the standard embossing sandwich for the Gemini worked, but I used a handmade shim of three blocks of cardstock in place of the embossing mat that comes with it. It is always best to try it out on some scraps of paper first to find the best embossing sandwich for your particular machine.

I knew that I would want to photograph these cards together, so I tried to keep a similar color palette that wouldn't completely clash with each other. After this set if images, I will give you some instructions on creating each card with it's individual shots.

For card #1, I loosely colored the blooms with my liquid watercolor in the following colors: candy apple, bubblegum & emerald city. Then I adhered the colored layer with two more white layers using a Zig glue pen. I mounted a white cardstock block to a pink A2 card base with some foam adhesive, then glued the floral diecut to the front. I adhered the gold letters into the die, then splattered black & gold paint to the front. While that was drying, I stamped & heat embossed the word Fabulous in black to vellum using the Lush Greenery stamp set. I cut it out with it's coordinating die, then added it to the front with some thin foam strips. Finally, to finish the card I added some jewels tucked here & there.

Card #2 was super easy to put together. First I folded an A2 card from black cardstock, then splattered white & gold paint to the front of it. Next I adhered the gold glitter diecut layer to a white layer, but offset it a little bit so some of the white would show through. Finally, I adhered it to the front of the card with thin foam strips. Easy peasy!

For card #3, I used the embossed panel and adhered it to a pink card front with foam adhesive. Then I painted a set of the white letters in an ombre gradient in the following colors: candy apple and bubblegum. I stacked & adhered the painted letters with the rest using a Zig glue pen, then adhered them to the front of the card. I splattered it with gold paint, then added some gold puffy stickers from the Simple & Sweet collection to finish.

Those are the three cards I have for you today! I hope that you enjoyed them, and this lovely die!
That is all I have for you today, friends! I have updated my Crafty Sales page with some of the lastest promos, so be sure to check it out! Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) And of course, I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. My channel has been pretty quiet recently - I am right in the middle of reorganizing my entire craft area...so it is a bit disjointed. I have given myself a deadline of the end of December to get it completely finished, with my new studio area ready for video creation!! So, there will be a TON more videos in 2019. So thank you for bearing with me until then!

You are going to see a new option up there....Facebook. I go back & forth on this a lot, but I was looking through my personal FB page the other day...and it was cards for days. It doesn't leave room for what I want my personal FB to have on it - personal photos & such. So, I have created a FB page for Lea Lawson Creates again. I would love to have you join, and be sure to subscribe to notifications so you don't miss out on anything. I would like to make the page interactive, and a way that we can actually hang out...so if you have any ideas on that, I would appreciate it!
I hope that you have a great Thursday!
