Pinkfresh Studio - Great Joy

December 12, 2018

Happy Wednesday, friends! We've made it to the middle of the week! This week is going by too fast...isn't that always the case when you are spending it with family & friends? I just want it to slow down! But my little brother & future sister-in-law get here tomorrow, so that is exciting!

Back in September we did a liquid watercolor video hop at Pinkfresh Studio, and I was in charge of doing both my video and the video for Pinkfresh Studio's channel. I noticed the other day that I never shared that card here, so today is the day! You might recognize it if you frequent any of our events, and if so...now you are just getting a second chance at seeing it. :)

I am quite fond of how this card turned out! It uses the Great Joy stamp set and coordinating die, and I did a simple water wash & drop technique with my Pinkfresh liquid watercolors. I also wanted to show that although our watercolors are vibrant, they can absolutely be toned down!

As I mentioned, there is a video that goes along with this card. You can view it in HD HERE, or watch it below. This is on the Pinkfresh Studio YouTube channel, so it does have our intro before the video starts. :)

Since there is a video, I'm just going to do a brief overview on how I created it. To start I did all the stamping & heat embossing first. I stamped the Great Joy wreath to heavyweight white cardstock in onyx black Versafine. I stamped & heat embossed the bow in Gilded embossing powder to white cardstock, and the sentiment in white to black cardstock.

Next I colored the wreath in with Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolor. Once it looked how I wanted it, I proceeded with diecutting, and cut out the wreath & bow with the Great Joy coordinating dies. Then I trimmed the sentiment into a thin strip and added a banner edge to the right side.

Next I mounted a panel of white cardstock to the front of a black A2 card using foam adhesive. I mounted the wreath to the front of it using foam tape, then created a sky blue watercolor wash around it because the background was just too stark white. Then I flicked gold paint splatters to the front.

Finally, I added the bow & sentiment banner to the front of the card, and then accented it with my signature jewels tucked here & there.
That is all I have for you today, friends! I have updated my Crafty Sales page with some of the lastest promos, so be sure to check it out! Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) And of course, I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. My channel has been pretty quiet recently - I am right in the middle of reorganizing my entire craft area...so it is a bit disjointed. I have given myself a deadline of the end of December to get it completely finished, with my new studio area ready for video creation!! So, there will be a TON more videos in 2019. So thank you for bearing with me until then!

You are going to see a new option up there....Facebook. I go back & forth on this a lot, but I was looking through my personal FB page the other day...and it was cards for days. It doesn't leave room for what I want my personal FB to have on it - personal photos & such. So, I have created a FB page for Lea Lawson Creates again. I would love to have you join, and be sure to subscribe to notifications so you don't miss out on anything. I would like to make the page interactive, and a way that we can actually hang out...so if you have any ideas on that, I would appreciate it!
I hope that you have a lovely Tuesday!
