Happy Monday, blog friends!! Just popping in for a quick post to let you know that I am hosting this week's Weekly Challenge at Studio Calico today!
The challenge is to add a shaker element to any type of project, including cards, layouts, Project Life spreads, etc...I hope you will join in with me over at Studio Calico....I would love to see what you create!
If you have a moment, I would also love for you to like my Lea Lawson Creates facebook page. I add blog links & photos to it...and will be doing a TON more with it in 2015. Be sure to join me before all the fun gets going!! You can also add yourself as a follower to my blog in the right sidebar as another way to keep up with my posts.
That is all I have for today! I am super busy creating for some upcoming creative team work, but hopefully I will have some time to create something for my blog in the next day or so.
Have a wonderful Monday!
Until later,
~L.

Happy Saturday, blog friends! How is your weekend going so far? Pretty good over here! We went to see Mockingjay Part 1 yesterday afternoon, and it was really good. I haven't read the books, so when I watch the movie...it is all completely new to me. Which is kind-of fun!! Then our neighbors came over, and we had smoked pizza & cocktails. It was a fun afternoon/evening, which I really needed this week. :) Today we are just being homebodies. Josh is playing video games, & I am crafting. And at 6pm I am going to stream the Griz-Cat game on my phone (it's the only way to see it over here in Fargo...I'll take what I can get. Lol!), and hope that the Griz just pummel them!!!
One of the things I've created today is this cutie Fall themed love card using this month's "Walden" card kit from Studio Calico. I tried to use only product from the kit for this card, but ended up feeling like it needed the twine threaded button, and the enamel dots to feel finished. That's pretty minimal add-ons if you think about it though!
I wanted the acorn layer to just kind-of peek through underneath the sentiment...so I stamped it fairly lightly with honey ink, and choose the outlined top verses the bolder, blacked out one. I also think the colors are really fun for a fall themed card...how about you? I like that while it can be given during our fun Fall holidays...it can also really be given any time of the year!
Card Challenges:
I hope that you liked my card today! I've recently created a Facebook page just for my paper crafting, and I would love for you to follow me on it! All you have to do is like my Lea Lawson Creates facebook page. I add blog links & photos to it...and will be doing a TON more with it in 2015. Be sure to join me before all the fun gets going!! Have a great rest of your Saturday! Go Griz....beat the Cats!!!

Happy Wednesday, blog friends! I hope that you've had a great first part of your week. Do you believe that things happen right when you need them? I don't divulge a lot from my personal life on the internet, but I will say that I had a hard morning yesterday. And while it was an appointment that brought on the pity party...it's more a culmination of things that have just kind-of sucked the joy out of me lately. I went to Starbucks after my appointment, figuring that a latte might help perk me up, and when I got to the window the cashier let me know that the car in front of me paid for my drink. And it honest truth...I almost cried. Because it was such a nice gesture, because they had no idea how I was feeling that morning, and because I felt like God was reminding me that there are still a lot of things to take joy in, even though other parts of my life are a struggle. Later that afternoon I got an email that also made me smile, and feel happy. I'm really thankful for both of those small things that happened, and I hope that I will remember them in the future, on days when I am struggling. And on days when I am not struggling...so I can remember to pay it forward.
Speaking of being thankful, how about I get on to my projects for today? :) I've got some cute decorated bags to share with you, combining some Winnie & Walter stamps and My Mind's Eye scrapbooking product. The theme over on the Winnie & Walter blog this month is "Gift Giving", & I thought these little bags were the perfect idea, as we are so close to Thanksgiving. Check them out!
I've combined some metallics & woodgrain from the My Mind's Eye Necessities collection with papers from Jubilee "Tangerine" & "Mint Julep" to give me that Thanksgiving feel I was going for. Aqua blue has become a staple Thanksgiving color for me...I think it pairs perfectly with the traditional reds, oranges & yellows of the season!! After putting the tags together, I used the Winnie & Walter A Tree for All Seasons stamp set, and stamped a sentiment from it to each one! Then I accented them, & clipped them to glassine bags covered with woodgrain papers. Easy peasy!
Card Challenges:
I hope that you've enjoyed my cute little bags today!! I think they would be really great for giving small gifts to your guests on Thanksgiving, or for bringing a gift to your hostess! I've recently created a Facebook page just for my paper crafting, and I would love for you to follow me on it! All you have to do is like my Lea Lawson Creates facebook page. Happy Sunday, blog friends! How has your weekend been? Mine has been good....stuck close to home because we were dog sitting. So, pretty much just football, staying warm, drinking hot tea, minimizing the chaos of 3 dogs in the house....you know, same old same old. :)
Did you all notice that my URL has changed? :) I'm kind-of sneaky...lol! Feel free to update the link if you have it saved somewhere, but it will always redirect. So, no worries if you forget!!
I did get some time to create another Christmas card today after we got home from church. It's another shaker card {I feel kind-of obsessed} using this week's Sunday sketch at Studio Calico. I love how even though there seems to be a lot going on with the shakers, it still has an overall clean & simple feel to it. Check it out!
I couldn't get over how perfect the sketch was for a shaker card! Plus...I have been wanting to use this new stamp set that I added to my card kit order for November. It is FAB! I have so many more card ideas in mind for it...I can't wait to ink it up again!! I combined it with some items from the Brighton Pier & Atlantic collections. I LOVE freshening up older product by combining it with the newer stuff. It's a great way to not be wasteful!
Card Challenges I've created it for:
**The bells & some of the sequins are not linked above. I found them at Michael's, but am sure they can be found at most craft stores.**
I hope that you enjoyed my card this evening! I will be back this coming week with more fun creations!! {Hopefully there will be more Thanksgiving themed items...}
Would you like to keep up with me on Facebook? All you have to do is like my Lea Lawson Creates facebook page. I add blog links & photos to it...and will be doing a TON more with it in 2015. I hope that the remainder of your Sunday night is restful, and that you have a wonderful start to your week tomorrow!
