One thing that always makes me feel better? Featuring amazing product & companies, and today is all about Avery Elle! They have some of the cutest stamps & dies, and they are amazing quality!!
Today I created a card using the Avery Elle "Snowflakes" clear stamp set, and the Snowflakes Elle-Ments dies!
To create the snowflakes, I diecut them from gold glitter paper first and then stamped & heat embossed them with the matching snowflake stamp. The heat melted the glitter paper a little bit, so it lost some of its sparkle...but I still think they turned out really pretty!!
I diecut the word "seasons" from heavy weight black cardstock 3 times, and layered it together. This is a super skinny diecut, and I just wanted to give it some structure when it came time to add it to the card front. It worked perfectly, and I love the added dimension it gives the card as well! I stamped the rest of the sentiment to a thin strip of white cardstock, and then cut a banner edge to just the right side.
Once the diecutting, stamping & heat embossing were done - it was mostly just a layering game! I wanted to make it look like the snowflakes were flurrying, so I intertwined pearl flourishes throughout them, and then added really pretty gems to each middle!
The flourishes and jewel strips are some older Prima items I've had in my Scrapbox since my time on their creative team. I am a proponent of using what you've got, so I like to mix new (the stamps & dies) with the old in order to freshen them up and still get great use out of them!
I've been drawn to kraft colored cardstock this week for some reason, but I'm loving it for a more muted and sophisticated holiday color palette! I have a feeling I will be using it a lot more as the season continues!
I had so much fun creating with these Avery Elle stamps & dies! Thank you so much for being part of my crafty comeback party!!

Such a beautiful card. Love the dimensions you've added. The snowflakes are so beautiful. I love the sentiment in black and layered. It really stands out! You are making a great comeback!
ReplyDeleteThis is just a beautiful card, and I love how you combined the old and the new. You'd never know any of it was "old". It is just a beautiful piece of layering.
ReplyDeletelovely. And thanks for a chance to win too.
ReplyDeleteStunning, Lea...the combination of elements, the layering, the colours...swooning over this work of art that, if framed, would also be a gorgeous as a piece of home decor! Coldest place I've been is my home city of Edmonton. A couple winters ago, the temperature stalled at -40C (which is also -40F) for several days. Brrr...actually, beyond brrrr...

Beautiful card! I love all the details :) I lived in Wisconsin for the first 25 of my life, so I think that was the coldest place I've been. I visited Switzerland and Germany, but it was in the summer, so not very cold :)
