We are at day 8 of my Crafty Comeback Party, and today I am featuring Neat & Tangled. The Neat & Tangled stamp designs have a beautiful hand drawn feel to them, and stamp with a perfectly crisp impression. Not to mention....the dies!! I think it is well known that I am a lover of dies, and Neat & Tangled dies do not disappoint! They are amazing!
I decided to keep with a Thanksgiving theme for my cards today. I chose to use a rainbow color palette, but muted the tones to give it a more autumnal & rich feel. I really love how they came together, and I hope you do to! Check them out!
I can't even begin to explain how excited I am that this card turned out! While I was in the process of making it, I wasn't so sure. Lol! It just goes to show that the process isn't always pretty, but the outcome is pretty fantastic. Isn't that how life can be, too?
To create the rainbow leaf, I started out by stamping the Oak Leaf stamp to Strathmore Bristol art paper in Antique Linen distress ink. Then I just started to add watercolor free hand into each section. I used 5 different distress ink colors, and they are all linked below. In order to keep it organized, I actually stamped the leaf to scrap paper and labeled which color I wanted each section to be. This way I had a guide before starting so that I would be less likely to make a mistake! {By the way - I did make a few. But, it didn't devastate the project, and it still turned out.}
When the watercolor was dry, I cut it out using the matching Oak Leaf diecuts, cutting the top layer from gold glitter cardstock.
Then I layered everything to the card front using dimensional adhesive. I kept the card extremely simple in design so that the watercolor leaf could steal the show!
For my second card I created another rainbow colored watercolor leaf, but heat embossed the Maple Leaf stamp set this time.
I kept this one a little bright and airy, and stamped/watercolored the leaf image to Ranger Watercolor paper. I love the bright white of this paper - I've been using it for awhile now, and it is still my favorite!
It didn't really show up in photographs, but I misted the watercolor background with white Heidi Swapp color shine to give it a nice shimmer. It is a really nice touch to such a simple card!
As usual, I used some jewels from my stash to embellish! You can always switch these out for enamel dots or any round type of embellishment if bling isn't your thing!
I just love how these autumn cards turned out! You will not regret adding any of these amazing Neat & Tangled products to your stash - I foresee myself using them over & over again!
