We are in the final week of my crafty comeback party, and today is all about Pretty Pink Posh! Paulina creates such fun stamps & dies, and really amazing sequin mixes too! She also is such a kind human being, which is far more important than anything else.
Today I have 2 shaker cards to share with you (is that really a suprise when there are sequins involved?!). They are two of my very favorite colors - pink & blue!
I'm going to start with this adorable card using the Angel Friends stamp set, and coordinating dies. If I'm being completely honest here - I don't really know how to color! It's on my list this winter to take some classes & learn how to do it properly & well (on that note - if you have taken any really amazing classes on coloring - please share them with me!). The other factor is that I actually don't have Copic markers, or an equivalent. I do have a set of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, which I think are technically supposed to be more watercolor based. But I desperately wanted to color these adorable little angels, so I did! They likely aren't technically perfect, but I do love how they turned out!
I added prisma glitter to their wings & the stars, because I love glitter and it just seemed fitting! I also brushed along the top of the banner & a little bit on each end peice with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. It doesn't photograph very well, but the touch of glitter is so pretty in real life!
I chose to make this card pink & blue, because while I don't believe that my children became angels when they went to Heaven...this set really does remind me a lot of them. It makes me smile every time I look at this card, which means I likely won't give it away. It will become part of my Christmas decorations instead!!
To create the blue background behind the shaker, I used the same ombre technique from this previous Ellen Hutson post. I colored about an inch of the top of a block of white Strathmore art paper, then used a large watercolor brush and water to fade it to the other end. Then I misted it with some white color shine to give it a little shimmer!
I created the shaker using the Scallop Hexagon dies and a nice mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins! They are all linked below! To finish, I accented with some pink Prima crystals that I've had in my stash for awhile.
My next card is also a shaker card, using the Smile Shaker die and the Essentials: Lana Cutaways from W&W to create this one.
I used the W&W Peppermint Zone creative screening to create the background, along with distress oxide inks. It was so fun blending that background together, and then I misted it with white color shine to give it some shimmer!
The sequins are a combination from Pretty Pink Posh - most of the same ones as in my first card, and they are all linked below!
These both turned out so cute, and I'm so thankful to Paulina at Pretty Pink Posh for being part of my crafty comeback party! I know that I will continue using all these amazing goodies she sent in the near future!

The cards are truly beautiful! A fitting tribute to your little angels. I honestly believe that those we love never really leave. They live on in our memories. I lost my dad and my uncle who was more like an elder brother when I was a teen. Even after 30+ years I feel their presence around me.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards! They are so pretty! And I think your coloring turned out beautifully, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought the angel card was the cutest thing ever. Then I scrolled further and saw the second stunner. That's the beauty of handmade - perfection is not required. Keep smiling.
ReplyDeleteThese cards are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and designs.
Lovely sequins mix.

Lea, your cards are beautiful! I truly hope that peace will fill your heart this holiday season and that you will have many blessings to make you smile each day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shaker cards! I almost never make shaker cards but I do believe I'm inspired!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards showcasing all these beautiful products from PPP!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! Love the sweet angels and the dies you used on your cards! PPP has so many adorable stamp sets, and I love their sequins and dies!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card, and your coloring is great! Pencils also work great for coloring as well, and I just bought a set of alcohol markers off of Amazon that are not as expensive as Copics but do work fairly well for coloring...quite reasonably priced!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, your cards are stunning.
ReplyDeleteI like these pretty shaker cards you created.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards, I just love pink and blue AND Pretty Pink Posh!
ReplyDeleteYou got the prettiest card here! I love all the sweet, girly element!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely cards! I love all the beautiful details.
ReplyDeletePPP has the most beautiful sequins, and you've used them perfectly! I really love your backgrounds, especially the one on the second card.
ReplyDeleteHello... You cards are lovely. I can highly recommend Kit & Clowder for coloring. Alyce provides alternates knowing not everyone has the same product. Her tutorials are fabulous and she is very supportive and always right there if you need help or have a question. I am very pleased.
ReplyDeleteThe sequins are beautiful, as well as your cards. I love that the angels represent your two sweet babies.
ReplyDeleteI really love your sweet angels card! I think it's colored perfectly. And all those sequins in both shakers are so pretty & shimmery. Gorgeous cards!
ReplyDeleteI *was* having a rather pouty day (I know...not particularly 'adult' of me!), but then, your cards appeared in my Feedly, on IG and at FB...and I'm over the 'meh'! Spirits lifted in seeing your sweet angels and sparkly smile cards! Magical and gorgeous! Thank you for changing the direction of my day!

ReplyDeleteFabulous shaker cards!
ReplyDeleteThese shaker cards are equally beautiful !
ReplyDeleteOooh -- I love sparkly sequins and your shaker cards are so delightful!!
ReplyDeleteI would never say you don't know how to color because you did a great job on your angels. I resisted the alcohol marker craze for a long time too....but when I started using them there was no looking back! Classes are nice but the best teacher is to jump in there and just start using them. You are such a great crafter you will be an expert using them in no time. ;) Love these shaker cards!!!
ReplyDeleteThe shakers look amazing!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful shaker cards!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! LOVE the background on that smile one!
ReplyDeleteDELIGHTFUL shaker cards!
