Today I is all about Flora and Fauna! This is a new {to me} company that I found once I started checking out the paper crafting world again. And I absolutely fell in LOVE with their stamp sets & diecut designs!
Today I've created a galaxy watercolor background, and featured the Iceberg die, along with a sentiment from the Winter Woodland stamp set! (All products are linked at the end of the post.) Here is how it turned out!
I'm a little rusty when it comes to watercolor, so I will be honest and say this was my second attempt at the background. The first one just looked a bit muddy in the sky. Now, the first one did have a better iceberg reflection, but there wasn't a way to combine the two...and I decided that better sky was more important!
I went to Alaska this summer, and got to see a huge glacier, and icebergs in the sound as we were traveling towards the glacier. It was AMAZING. And I think that is what drew me to this metal die! Now technically, icebergs aren't white. They are the color of the water...but I'm pretending that this iceberg just got covered in a fresh dusting of snow that happens to be sparkling in the moonlight. :)
Oh my goodness...I LOVE how this card turned out! I'm so partial to that iceberg die, and I know I will be using it over & over again! The Winter Woodland stamp set has even more adorable sentiments & images in it, and I know that it will be put to great use as this holiday & winter season continues!

That's a gorgeous card ! Galaxy background is so stunning ! And even if the iceberg die-cut isn't that accurate to real life, it's still pretty great !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love the sky you created and the iceberg die!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about Halloween creating are the color combos... love black, orange, purple, green and dark blue or combos of those! Perfect for a Halloween scene!
The Winter Woodland set is delightful! Thanks for the chance to win it!
Wow, Lea! This is just AMAZING! I love that iceberg die and your beautiful galaxy background. I don't do Halloween crafting, but I do make harvest/autumn cards and projects. I love making them because of the colors, the coziness and warmth that they exude and how happy they make me feel as I make them and how happy they make my recipients feel.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card!! The coldest place I have ever visited is Northern NH where I grew up. Sometimes got to 10-15 below zero with a wind chill.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous background for your iceberg; it reminds me of the Northern Lights that we often see when we visit my grandparents (now my mom's) farm in northern Alberta. Coldest place I've been - the nights when we were on our trek to Everest Base Camp...days were lovely, but the nights! Freezing! I slept wearing my down jacket and several other layers of clothes inside my down sleeping bag...and still shivered! We won't discuss how chilly it was to crawl out of bed in the morning. Brrrrr!

Idaho! We've gotten to minus temps and that's pretty darn cold. AND, its even colder when you have to walk a mile to the snow covered cold cold card... Its so cold you cant even unlock the door cause the lock is frozen :)

Brrr!!! I was born in Sicily (during winter time there's 15 C) and I live in Florence were temperature are about 10 C.

ReplyDeleteI totally forgot to add that the coldest place I've ever been was Washington State December of 2013. It was below 30 for three weeks and I froze my bum off. I've since moved back to Florida! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have lived my whole life in a tropical coastal city. So winters are really not something I know much about. The coldest place I have been to has been Ladak, high in the Himalayan mountains.
