Welcome to day 5 of my Crafty Comeback Party! What a FUN first week this has been...and we've got 3 more weeks of this!! It has been amazing getting back into the creative groove again, and hopefully my projects have been inspiring you to create too!
Today's Crafty Comeback Sponsor is Ellen Hutson! Along with carrying the latest art & crafting supplies, Ellen Hutson also offers their own stamp & die sets called Essentials by Ellen! On Sunday I shared a card using some of their newly released items! You will definitely want to check them out!
For today's projects, I am using the Modern Christmas by Julie Ebersole stamp set, and the Concertina Tag die by Julie Ebersole. Here is what I came up with!
To create the ombre background, I colored about an inch of the top with a Zig Color Real Marker in light carmine, and then used water & a watercolor brush to fade it downward.
The cool thing about the Concertina Die is that it technically doesn't cut the three tags apart. BUT, it is easy to trim them apart with your paper trimmer, and use them as single tags as well!! That is what I did for all of my projects today!
I did an ombre effect on the mistletoe leaves as well, and it is super simple! First, I covered the stamp in Sea Glass pigment ink, then I lightly tapped Mint pigment ink to just a little bit of one corner. You could use daubers to do this, but I just used the ink pad and applied softly.
To finish I just layered everything together, creating dimension with foam tape & dots. I accented the card with jewels & pearls that I have in my stash!
I just love the softness of this card - it speaks to my whimsical soul!! When I diecut the word JOY from that cute Crate Paper "Falala" tree patterned paper, I decided that I also wanted to create something with the negative space it left in the paper. So - I created a trio of tags! One shaker tag, and 2 peekaboo tags.
These tags are bright & bold, and feed the part of me that started out in the scrapbooking world! I adore patterned papers, and love to find ways to use them while still being stampy and artsy as well!
I used a little bit of tulle trim from my stash to create the JOY tag, then filled the shaker with the Pretty Pink Posh "Friendship" sequin mix, along with the 3mm Sparking Clear sequins.
Those will be SO cute on Christmas packages this year! They are super easy to create, especially the peekaboo tags...and can be created with leftover papers & negative diecuts you make!
