We are on day 3 of my Crafty Comeback party, and it has been so much fun so far!! I'm loving getting back into the groove of creating, and seeing my ideas come to life. Today is all about Lil' Inker Designs, who is so near & dear to my heart. I have been working with Laura forever now, and she creates some of the cutest stamps with matching dies!
About 3 years ago or so, I created this cute Halloween card for Lil' Inker Designs that had adorable cut-out ghosts that I popped over the top of tulle. I STILL love that card to this day - in fact, I loved it so much that I kept it & use it in my Halloween decor. I got to thinking about that card when I saw the latest Ghost Shaker Dies, and decided I wanted to take it a step further! I kept the tulle, but also turned it into a shaker card!!! I combined the new Ghost Shaker Dies with the previously released Stitched Ghost Dies, which go together perfectly!! It is so cute...check it out!
As the card progressed, I realized I chose really feminine colors in addition to the tulle, which is pretty girly itself. So, I decided that this cute little ghost NEEDED a rose gold bow! The Mini Bow Die did the trick, and created a perfect bow for her!
I found these jewels while browsing through the aisles at Michael's the other day. They won't be in the link list below, so I wanted to make sure you knew where to grab them! They are Recollections brand, and located in the jewel/rhinestone section of the scrapbooking aisles.
The gold foiled star vellum is an older item from Studio Calico. I have just remnants of it left in my vellum scrap pile, and I don't think you can get it any longer. But, there are so many amazing gold foiled vellum options out there now, that you can absolutely substitute! I'm a huge advocate for using up your scraps, and this was a perfect fit for my card!
For some added interest & dimension to the card, I purposely put the top layer on with a little tilt. I know that won't be everyone's cup of tea, and it would still look awesome if you kept it nice & straight!

ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to revisit previous projects and try to improve them. Love how this card turned out. The best part of Halloween is the colours.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card! I love the shaker ghosts! I love dressing up for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI had to pop over and see your original card with the tulle - so cute!! Your shaker card is just as adorable and I love the use of tulle with a shaker. I will have to grab some tulle the next time I go to the craft store so I can experiment. I don't create projects for Halloween, but I do like to create and decorate for fall/autumn. My favorite thing is making something new each year and bringing in coziness and warmth to my house with a new project. Haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do this year yet....
ReplyDeleteI love making Halloween / autumn cards..Your Halloween card is just Fabulous 😍

ReplyDeleteI love love and love making Halloween 'somethings' for my niece and nephew's classmates (and them, too, of course!). This year, for my nephew's kindergarten class: 25 'ghostly' tags and die-cut bats holding a Halloween pencil. For my niece's Grade 2 class, 25 Meowy Halloween bookmarks and bats, as well. Can't wait to deliver them! Thank you for your spook-tacular showcase today!

I don't celebrate Halloween.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card! I don't really craft for Halloween but love seeing all the dark and scary things everyone else does :) I really like the black and orange colours of Halloween - so striking together.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite holiday so I love to craft for it! I usually love to create wreaths for Halloween but this year I focused on making "eyeball" ornaments using cheap dollar store christmas ornaments.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a wonderful shaker card - love the use of the netting!!
ReplyDeleteI love your ghost shaker card....I can see where it would be favorite. :) I especially like how you used the netting. My favorite Halloween craft is making cards....I think of all the holidays....I also like to make cute treat bags.

ReplyDeleteHalloween is pretty new to us in Australia, but I have family and friends in the US, so making spooktacular cards has been fun but now that we get Trick or Treaters knocking at the door, my favourite thing is making treat boxes in a variety of designs, with plenty of bows with sparkle & bling on hand, so that they can be personalised for the ones that want a girlie version :)
This is absolutely adorable! Even more than spooky lol
ReplyDeleteAmazing card my dear, love it!
ReplyDeleteComments warm my heart. Thank you! ♥
