Crafty Comeback Party - Day 9 - Honey Bee Stamps + Giveaway

October 19, 2017

Good morning and Happy Thursday!!  It's almost the weekend, friends!  I know that I'm looking forward to gorgeous fall weather, crafting & college football!

Today is day 9 of my Crafty Comeback Party, and today I am featuring Honey Bee Stamps & Dies!  This company is new {to me}, and I honestly LOVE their beautiful products!!  They've got such FUN designs and a whimsical style...I just adore them!!  You've got a chance to win a Honey Bee Stamps giveaway, so be sure to read through the end of the post!

I am so excited to share my card today, but also a little nervous.  If you've frequented my blog in the past, you will know that I embrace many styles in cardmaking.  I truly love the freedom that creating gives you - and I LOVE this card that I made.  I think a few years ago this style got named "freestyle collage" or something like it - I don't know if that is even a thing any longer.  I'll just call it a little eclectic! :)

 I started by misting an A2 card base with gold Heidi Swapp color shine.  I sprayed it with a fine mist a couple times, and then took the spray mechanism out and flicked larger drops of the gold to the front.  Then I set it aside to dry for a few minutes.

 I stamped the first part of the sentiment to a strip of white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Then I heat embossed the word "Blessings" in Zing Gold Glitter embossing powder to white cardstock, then cut it out.  I set that aside, and cut out the leaves from gold foil vellum using the Bushel And A Peck Honeycuts, and ran them through my sewing machine.

 After that, there isn't a step by step process!  I just started layering bit by bit!  The lace is an older piece of trim from Webster's Pages, and the doilies are just some that I've collected over the years off of Etsy.  I cut things apart until they fit how I wanted them on the card.  Once I felt like the arrangement of items was right, I adhered them down permanently.

Then I added the sentiment to the front, tucked another piece of doily behind it and arranged the diecut leaves.  I finished by accenting with jewels & Honey Bee's Clear Iris sequins {which are AWESOME, by the way!}

I think this turned out so whimsical and fun!  I loved using these Honey Bee stamps & dies in a bit of a different fashion, and I hope that you like it too!

  1. I chuckled at your "little" eclectic description. White and gold is a beautiful colour combo. As for the weekend, the usually Mum duties - wash and iron uniforms, comb hair, take elder daughter to Girl Guides. I'm considering making a card for the Neat & Tangled giveaway, but I'm a very new crafter and my supplies are minimal, so I'm not certain what I could come up with, other than drowning the project in patterned paper.

  12. Such an elegant card! Honey Bee is new to me; I recently welcomed one of their sweet mermaids into my collection. Yes, it's fall, but I still plan to colour her up for a DT card in the next week! This weekend, we're off to my 'home' city of Edmonton to visit my mom and family. Along with that, I'll be an official at two cyclo-cross bike races; my husband will be racing. I love being an official; the cycling community is as wonderful as the crafting one is!
