Winnie & Walter - WCMD 2018 Ink Blending Challenge

October 6, 2018

Hi there again, friends, and welcome to my second post of the day. I am hosting the 3pm challenge for Winnie & Walter's WCMD celebration!

You can get the full details on all of today's festivities HERE, including all the different giveaway info! There is a ton of inspiration, and a LOT of great prizes to be won...so you are definitely going to want to play along!

My challenge for you is a simple one...to add ink blending somewhere on your card! For my card, I blended distress oxide inks to create the sky that is behind my cute crittery scene. I'm using the Season's Tweetings stamps & dies, which released when I took my hiatus, so I never had a chance to use them. Truthfully - it is better that I am using them now, because I at least kind-of know how to color now! Lol!

To start, I blended distress oxide inks in Peacock Feather & Wilted Violet to create my scene. If I'm being completely honest, I also blended in worn lipstick...but it is covered by the scene I've created. I sprayed it with some shimmer spray, then flicked white & gold paint splatters to the front and set it aside to dry.

Next I stamped all the images to heavyweight white cardstock in onyx black Versafine ink. Then I proceeded to color them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I accidentally put the markers all away before taking a photo of what I used - sorry about that! I have the 90 pack, but I think if you have the 80 pack...you will for sure still have all the colors I used.

Once the coloring was done, I cut all the images out with their coordinating diecuts. Then I also diecut the snowy hill from white glitter paper. At this point it was time to start putting the card together, so I mounted the ink blended background to the front of an A2 white card with foam adhesive. Then I adhered the snowy hill to the bottom, popping just the top with some foam dots so that I could slide some of the other diecuts behind it. Then I arranged the scene, adding items in the background, and popping here & there with foam dots to give it some dimesion.

To finish, I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment to white cardstock in Gilded embossing powder, then cut it into a banner shape. I mounted it to the upper right section of the card with some foam tape, then finished the card by accenting with my signature jewels tucked here & there. The very final step was just quickly adding some shimmer with my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen.

I hope you like the cute little scene I've created today! And I hope you will join me for Winnie & Walter's WCMD festivities, and link up your projects to my Ink Blending challenge. Be sure to pop over for the due dates, and prize info!

Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) Plus, I just started my YouTube channel, and while there are only a handful of videos right now...I will be adding new content consistently now that I've gotten the video process all set up on my new laptop.

Have a wonderful rest of your World Cardmaking Day!
